The thunder crashed as lightening lit up the sky. The only two people left in the mess hall were Captain Levi Ackerman and Squad Leader Hange Zoe.

The brunet was talking about his upcoming experiments, unaware of Levi's somber mood.

"....You think?" He finished, glancing at Levi who was stirring his tea absentmindedly, creating ripples. Staring at his reflection in the warm liquid, hoping it would get rid of his blues.

"Levi?"

The raven haired male glanced up, humming his response. The bags under his eyes more prominent than usual.

"What's wrong?"

Levi cleared his throat, "Nothing, I'm fine."

Hange shook his head, denying his answer, "Seriously, what's wrong? Did someone make a short joke again?"

"Tch, if you must know, that fucking brat Eren Jaeger messed up the latrines. I swear that little shit can't do anything right."

"But he can save humanity." The tall male pointed out.

"If he doesn't go berserk, that is. How's the experiment going along with him?"

"Levi..." He sighed, "Shouldn't you trust me with your little secrets by now? We've been together for almost three years."

"I suppose you're right, it's just...I never did like the rain." He finished as he took another sip from his cup.

Hange snickered, "And why is that? Mud tracks?"

"That and...you remember Farlan and Isabel?"

The scientist nodded, "Of course I do, Isabel was an energetic little thing. Eren reminds me so much of her, it's in the eyes, ya know?"

Levi smiled softly, "Yeah...his trio reminds me of my former one. Farlan would like Arlert, the other Ackerman is my cousin, and of course that little shit just had to remind me of Isabel. She was like my little sister, but now she's...they're gone."

Hange got up and wrapped a comforting arm around his lover, "I'm so sorry...you don't have to talk about it if you don't wanna."

"No, I kinda want to. I don't care much for rain, it reminds me of my very first expedition." The raven haired male admitted to the scientist beside him.

Hange had a sad smile on his face, Levi wrapping his arms around him unexpectedly. He tensed up but quickly sank into it, stroking his hair.

The thunder and lightening forgotten as the two lovers got lost in themselves. The raven haired male told countless stories of the adventures he had with his former friends to his love. His somber mood lifting up slowly.
