college au Levy is Gajeels tutor and he’s a piercing/tattoo artist as a hobby/side job. he pays her back with a piercing first as a joke but she gets serious and gets a nose ring, as a way of changing herself. etc start of their shoujo romcom romance

Breathe in and breathe out was his only warning at first before Levy felt the pain suddenly in her nose, stinging and then burning. Levy squealed her body stiffening as he laughed at her, and she really wondered if this was a good idea at all.

“Oi with all that complaining ya think you realize you’re done.” He said, smiling at her and holding a mirror up. Levy blinked, shocked as she took it and looked at herself; she was still the same old levy. Bookworm extraordinaire, but it was a subtle change. She smiled at herself, and then examined it, her nose was red and sore but all of that seem to not matter now.

“T-thank you” she finally said, smiling at him, she had been turtoring Gajeel Redfox for a few weeks now when he suddenly asked her if he could pay her back by piercing her ears or something; Which Levy agreed, but asked for a nose piercing.

She wanted something different.

“No problem.” He said as he started to clean up, his movements fast and easy that she didn’t even get time to stand up as he pulled the mirror from her, feeling the warmth of his hand for the first time it seemed when she constantly felt it earlier. It was then that Levy’s heart pounded for a bit as she watched him open the door only turning to wave goodbye to her. “See ya!’

“Wait! Can I buy you dinner?” she smiled, taking in a shaky breath, he stopped and gave her a look, like he didn’t believe this.

“What for?”

“To thank you for doing this.”

“Wasn’t this whole deal a way to thank you?” he asked, obviously amused by all of this, “you’re weird” laughing as Levy glared at him, cheeks puffed out as he touched her head. “Fine I’m starving anyways.”

She smiled then, the meek, bookworm Levy was now gone as she grabbed her purse. “You can keep your equipment here, I know of a great place by foot.” She grabbed his hand as she said this, not noticing how wide his red eyes got and left suddenly.

“Lead the way shorty.”

“Hey!”

Yes this was the start of a new Levy at least at the time that’s what she believed.
