1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?
The main thing I’m holding off writing is my novel, which is set in 1967 London and is about a closeted university lecturer who is seduced by a beautiful, blond German student who then blackmails him for money so that he can try and smuggle his dying father (who is a Nazi war criminal) back from Argentina to die in his homeland. There’s lots of themes of trust and honesty and guilt, and it’s set at a time when homosexuality is about to be legalised, and the beautiful German student is of course inspired by Nico. But yeah, I’ve written like 400 words of the thing and it probably needs like five years worth of research.
Fic wise - there’s a couple of AUs - one set in 30s Berlin and one based on Greek myth, that I’d like to write. But again, a lot of research needed and I haven’t really got the time at the moment.
5) character you were most surprised to end up writing
I was surprised I ended up writing football fic, but I guess I was inspired. ;)
22) are there any subjects that make you uncomfortable to write?
I feel a bit iffy writing about crashes, since Jules. I wouldn’t want to upset anyone or appear disrespectful.
25) copy/paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud of
Nico isn’t the same, and perhaps this truly died long ago and Lewis is just a habit. Not a warm, comforting habit but a bitter, clawing addiction. Nico is a gambler who can’t walk away from the table, can’t resist one last roll of the dice in case this time, this time might be that one wonderful moment where it all falls into place. And before he knows it he’s lost it all, his heart, his integrity, his self-respect. But now it is time to give this up, before it really is too late.
