@unauthorizcd said “how bad is this blizzard really? i’ll take my chances!”
There’s so much shit going on Matthieu truly doesn’t know where to turn. He’s not too phased by the murder, truthfully, partly because he thinks being afraid of a murderer is a little hypocritical. He’s worried that he can’t reach his kids, and he’s annoyed that he has a candle in his hand instead of this place having some sort of fail-safe for moments like this. Even Soliel had a backup generator. None of that matters though, not right now at least, what matters, is Lexi trying to throw herself out into a blizzard. New York in the winter was not to be messed with.
“Or, you could stay here with me,, not die from hypothermia or from getting murdered by the very real threat of a killer out there,” Matthieu offers, catching her hand in a gesture to stop her from leaving. He just has an urge to keep her safe, not something they’re particularly ready to look further into at the moment, but something that is a fact. It conicides with the urge to be around her right now, another thing he’s not willing to look further into. Tonight is about a lot of that, not willing to look further into how he feels about anything, and just going with the flow of the night. Fueled by alcohol, of course. Either way, Lexi trying to ditch the party, or what is left of it, that is, isn’t something he’s looking forward to, for semi-selfish reasons.
