How would Havard and Lexia react if they are in the position of Sheo during the early death scene where MC begs the ancient to kill them? Will those two do it as well as a form of mercy killing or not?
Just so you know, this was hard. I had to think hard about it. But let's pretend in the prologue Havard or Lexia finds MC instead of Sheo. How? No idea. Besides the point.

Havard
No... he can't do. No matter how much he wanted to ease the child's pain, he can't kill them to do it. A child, he could never hurt a child, not even if it might be a mercy. He had to believe that no matter how bad things were, they could get better. He had to help, to ease the pain, but not that. Never that. He needed to take the child away from here. There was no hope in this place of darkness and despair, but perhaps there was some to be found under the light of the sun and moon.

Lexia
Her duty is to protect... What is protecting right now? To ease the pain... to be merciful? Would it be a mercy? Or a waste? Would protecting not mean taking them away from this hell? Her blade was not for this, she was meant to protect children, not kill them. She knows this one was suffering... but this whole place was sick and wrong. No. She can't do it. Not now at least, surrounded by death and darkness. Time away from here... yes. That is the solution. She needed to know that the child will not choose differently away from this place.
