King: A Drag Revue tonight at Crush. Please read! In January 2016 Rinat Shagify asked me if there was an all Drag King show in town and I said to the best of my knowledge not currently. In June 2016 "King: A Drag Revue" made it's debut at Crush Bar to a capacity sold out crowd. The crowd size has varied from show to show but the enthusiasm of the performers and audience has never waned... It's true and I don't say it out of ego... Portland needs this show. And more like it. ANYWAY, Rinat / Baba and I are now ready to move from being producers of the show to mere figureheads: they will still perform and I will MC (and birthday lap dance) each show, but it is time to turn over the reins and King's quill pen of state over to someone else. Thank goodness for the excellent Paige DeAlmeida. In the mere time that this show has been happening, Paige has gone from being a stage manager and performer assistant extraordinaire to an up and coming show producer, and during that time they have stage managed EVERY King show (except for her birthday once when she just partied?). We cannot think of anyone more appropriate and inspired to keep this show fresh and full of energy. Love you Paige, thanks for making it possible for this show to continue. It's overflowing with amazing performers and of course, lots of Rock and Roll.
