The LGBT Readathon started yesterday, and for my first book I’m finishing up Beauty Queens by Libba Bray. This book has a couple fantastic queer and trans characters and is laugh-out-loud funny. The satirical social commentary surrounding The Corporation and all its products is 100% on point. I think this is a book I’ll be rereading quite a lot in the future.

The next book on my list is The Rules of Ever After by Killian B. Brewer, and as long as my copy arrives on time, I’ll be finishing the week with the Summer Love anthology from Interlude Press.

LGBT Readathon!

I’m excited to join the upcoming LGBT readathon from June 22nd- 28th. It will be hosted once again by the excellent Faye (aka @daydreamin_star on twitter).

The goal is simply to read as many LGBT book as you want and then talk about them with other excited readers. Last time, the participants heavily skewed towards YA, but I also saw lots of NA, contemporary, and scifi in the mix. 

To participate, you can sign up over at Faye’s blog or just use the hashtag #LGBTReadathon over the course of the week. On the last day, she’ll also be hosting a final wrap-up twitter chat at 8 PM (UK time) and the hashtag will be #UKLGBTChat (no British citizenship required).

If you’re feeling curious but shy, I’d recommend going for it. During the last chat, I just jumped in and everyone was incredibly welcoming! Soon, I’ll put up a post of what I plan to read during the week, but if you want to play along, I’d love to know what you’ll be reading.
