❥ LGC CAFE PERFORMANCES | TLDR; HYUNHEE RAPS AND DANCES TO A MEDLEY OF HER FAVORITE LEGACY BOY GROUP TRACKS ( WC : 300 )

though hyunhee is ( and always will be ) a girl group lover at heart, she decides for her performance at legacy’s cafe this time will showcase some of her favorite boy group songs. the pickings are slim, however, as the girl very rarely enjoys listening to male vocals. she is quite biased and loves women, what else can the rapper say? 

the truth is, many of the boy groups under legacy entertainment’s roster perform very hard, intense songs with difficult choreography and powerful raps. not to say the the girl groups in contrast don’t, as fabula’s discography touts very intense tracks, but it’s a very common trope that kpop boy groups tend to lean a bit more on the powerful side of things. with her performance, hyunhee wants to show how powerful she too can be. 

besides, girls do it better, don’t they?

while she had no trouble coming up with the setlist for her first and second performance at legacy’s cafe, this time she struggles to find songs that resonate with her. digging through the nearly hundreds of songs she’s never listened to before, or barely even heard snippets of, have hyunhee nearly pulling out her hair. she second guesses herself, wondering if she should just stick to what she knows, but the trainee perseveres and eventually settles on a handful of songs she thinks are catchy and will showcase her talents. 

when the day comes, she’s not nervous to perform on stage. no, it’s quite the opposite. behind the scenes, hyunhee can be seen bouncing around. this is due to her having too much energy in general ( thanks to the two americanos she chugged earlier ) as well as being excited to showcase her talents. in the end, she’s proud of the performance she puts on, smiling throughout it all.

he sang a lot for his last cafe performance. which, by the way, was months ago. so long ago. admittedly, he did not put nearly as much thought into this set as the ‘first time’ he supposes, but yushin thinks his choices are still solid and says more about himself than anything.

although, lyric wise, maybe not really. most of the lyrics were rather love oriented, which wasn’t necessarily intentional, but he liked the beats that were on the tracks, and he wanted to showcase more rap, which was something yushin hadn’t been doing for awhile. and he wanted to go back to that, because. he is agito’s main rapper after all.

to start it off with an easy-going rap song, he begins with antisocial, which he does clarify with a disclaimer. “this isn’t necessarily how i feel. i’m just....performing a song i really like. i’m happy with all the members of agito, so don’t take this personally. but... i think you’ll appreciate the song just as much as i do, especially if you haven’t, or have heard it before.”

the next song is another rap song, that was more upbeat by DPR LIVE, and a lot of the song was english. in fact, 95% of it. “i hope my english is improving. i... hope it is.” a lot of the lyrics were repetitive, at least, so he hopes that his pronunciation comes through. if not, take it as a serious practice round. “i will definitely work on improving my english so... if there are other songs you recommend, send them my way. actually, two of the songs i am performing today have english. so...  i hope i don’t disappoint.”

after he performs the second song, he does play a bit of catch up with the audience. “i wonder if you have seen some of agito’s newer songs through our collaborations... although the agito song i will do today will be from debut. any guesses?” yushin laughs, knowing the options aren’t that much. “i won’t be singing this one, but.. i’ll be doing the dance for some nostalgic times. and to give my voice a break. and then after that, i’ll be performing a song from an animated movie from a few years ago. the sequel came out recently. have you seen it? and then i’ll end with a softer song, one that i really like. i think you’ll like it too. it’s a little bit older, and more indie, so you might not have heard of it, but it is from one of my favourite artists, summer soul. i hope you’ll enjoy the rest of my set today.”

LGC ARTISTS CAFE PERFORMANCES

Oh boy-

Don't panic! It's always during the trying moments in life where we can achieve the most.

Café performance was coming up, meaning Seyoon had 50 precious minutes to make himself exist in the eyes of the general public. At the same time, though, he was not about to hang up this phone without getting some answers.

"What do you mean it's just a little fall? Were you up on the roof again with grandpa?" Seyoon's brows were knotted, his eyes bearing more intensity because for once, he wasn't smiling. "What did I say about doing that? What was dad doing?" It was unusual, for him to raise his voice like this.

No time to gel back his hair, especially with only one hand available. Seyoon opted to turn on the tap, run his hand under water and rake his fingers through his slightly poofy hair. "Accept that you are an old woman already, grandma. Stop making me worry." He softened his voice when he heard an apology, because he did not actually mean to sound angry with his grandmother. "It's just, you have a house full of men and boys. Stop being such a giver and make good use of them. We have muscles for a reason, right?" If he was home, he could have done the roof-

"I gotta go." He just received the signal. "Sorry, I love you. Be good, please. Once they let you out of the hospital, message me."

He hung up. Threw on his jacket. Got to the stage. Replaced the phone in his hand with a mic. Told himself that he must unfurrow his brows and find his smile.

Calm down, calm down. Everything is okay.

"Hello everyone!" He waved to the customers of the café, having thankfully brightened his mood (mostly) by this point. "My name is Kim Seyoon, a Legacy trainee, and I'll be performing for you today." As he bowed, Seyoon noticed his elbow scar. He got them from playing basketball when he was ten. Normally, that got covered up with concealer, but today, he didn't have time. "Today, I'll be singing some of the older songs. Let's see if they will bring back for you guys any pleasant memories from the past!"

It was unfortunate - one of the rare opportunities for him to face a crowd and he was not looking his best. Seyoon tried to focus his mind on the songs, but his mind raced through some worrying thoughts. Would they think he look out of place here? Originally he was planning on wearing the jacket Hyunsoo got for him, but due to having that conversation with grandmother and getting distracted, he ended up grabbing his worn down bear jacket. As much as he adored his grandmother's hand stitching and appreciated all the love she put in it, it was an old article of clothing. The bear was falling off and he'd be putting rainbow colored safety pins on it to hold it up.

Also his hair was kind of messy despite his effort with water. Plus his scar was out.

Would they think he looked bad? Could they really try to enjoy his singing if visually he was not selling? Let's be honest, this industry could be so critical when it came to looks and he probably looked closer to some kid off the street than an idol.

...

Oh well, no use crying over it. By the second song, Seyoon decided fuck it, he'll just do better with styling next time and try to enjoy the experience. It was important for him to always look ahead, after all, and not let the past drag him down.
