admittedly when the notion of a musical performance first came up, yuuki's mind had jumped straight to kabuki. naturally he was not so blind to the performing arts that he was unaware that any other types of musicals existed, but with a childhood centred around the dying art, it had been instinct kicking through first and foremost. still; although vastly different in concept, this task was closer to his world than anything else had been so far. even if he had no chance of doing well, he had to give it a go. to make his grandfather proud.
that was the plan in theory. practical execution was a slightly different matter as yuuki let his body slide down along the wall next to another troubled individual. "i'm not sure i understand this properly..." he sighed to himself in japanese. he hadn't any actual expertise in performing kabuki, but still the image how things were supposed to look clashed with what he was being taught. glance turned sideways, he only just then noticed how handsome the guy next to him actually was. "are you taking break too?"
TRAINEE MISSION 012 : project origin 2 behind the scenes ft. @lgcxmax
wren was excited!! she not only made it through the auditions--but actually had a role! it was minor, sure, but she had lines and wasn’t stuck in the ensemble this time. she really enjoyed theater and learning more about acting. part of her was considering maybe the acting path could be her calling--but she was too nervous to be sure. she was also glad to see familiar friendly faces in her part of the play. she was finally starting to feel a part of the lgc trainee community, making friends and connections--while gaining skills!
“max!!” she cheered when she saw the older trainee in the pattern b practice room. “i can’t believe you got a major role!” she knew that max was talented in rapping, dancing, and a great performer, but had no idea he could act to. “how are you feeling about it? are you excited?” she asked, curious how he was feeling after doing so much towards being an idol, then switching to a musical acting role.
it’d been almost two years in legacy, and the company still never failed to surprise and confuse hyoseop. when he joined future dreams he felt like he was good enough, just to be let known that he actually sucked totally ass. then now when the musical and audtion for it came around, hyoseop very much hadn’t expected anything really. hyoseop didn’t see himself as a very good actor, and it was a musical which meant it included singing, and no secret, hyoseop wasn’t a very good singer. seeing himself getting a major role he lifted a brow in confusion, was he really good enough for that?
but while he still wasn’t sure how he did it, he didn’t want to complain and get a minor role instead. hyoseop wasn’t confident in his acting nor singing, but he just wanted to get his face out there, gain some fans. hyoseop still knew he was far from being the best skilled, but he was aware of that he was handsome and charismatic, and for now that was what he was gaining fans on. he sits together with max, who too managed to get a major role. “can i ask, do you know how to act?”. “i suppose you’ve been in the company far longer than me, but i haven’t seen you act before?” he shrugs, looking down at the paper with his line. he looks up again at the other, “not entirely confident about this, but i’m glad having you be by my side” … “speaking of being together, is it just me or do we keep up ending together? future dreams, spring boys, this”.

on MAY 15, all of the trainees who auditioned were gathered together. with SEO YOUNGJAE and KWON SOYI present, they reveal the first set of good news, which are the roles.
to give some context to PROJECT ORIGIN - THE BEGINNINGS, the musical is split into two acts ( PATTERN A and PATTERN B ). PATTERN A’s story is one where the knights will be entering the tower and fighting against their counterparts, which are themselves. PATTERN B’s story will be about the knights who are outside of the tower and waiting to see the fate of their fellow comrades. for the roles, we’ve split them according to THREE CATEGORIES; MAJOR ( similar to a main/lead role in a musical ), MINOR ( similar to a supporting role in a musical ), and ENSEMBLE.
when deciding who would be in MAJOR, we based it on anyone that had at least +50 SINGING, +50 DANCING, +50 PERFORMANCE, +50 ACTING, and +50 KOREAN as of the TRAINEE MISSION 012 ( PART 1 ) deadline AND if they completed all of the writing requirements. anyone who didn’t meet those point requirements would fall under MINOR. with ENSEMBLE, everyone who joins the rp after MAY 14, didn’t submit the writing requirements for PART 1 of the mission, OR had 0-1 points in SINGING, DANCING, PERFORMANCE, and/or ACTING at the time of the part 1 deadline ( MAY 13 ) would automatically be in the ENSEMBLE category.

BEHIND THE SCENES/PROMOTIONS
to hype some of the avid lgc and project origin fans, the company has decided to promote a bit of the musical by filming some of the practice rehearsals leading up to the day of the musical ( which is SATURDAY, JULY 1 ). this means that there will be days when cameras will be filming the trainees during their rehearsals and be asked to all be in their best behavior when it happens. if you want a general idea of how the videos would look like, you can refer over here: EXAMPLE #1 / EXAMPLE #2. the promotion videos will be released from JUNE 24 to JULY 1.

If there's anything Taeha was getting from Characterization week, it was that there were those that simply played a role, while others truly became the role. And well, she wasn't quite too sure where she fell just yet. While she seemed to have no qualms taking on a 'role' in her dance performances, something always seemed to fall short once lines were involved. She mulled over their instructor's words: tap into your character's essence, their motivations, their world... But as the workshop continued on it was beginning to feel a lot easier said than done.
Well, if she couldn't step into a character's world, the least she could do was step into their shoes - or dress. "What about this?" Taeha moves back from the wardrobe nestled away in the corner of the room. "I don't know... This doesn't really scream 'elegant woman of the upper class' does it?" She turns to Haeun with a slight frown, extending her arms to show off the gaudy party dress she'd tugged on over her clothes. Even with all her undying love for all things pink, even she would have to admit the look was giving a bit less Penthouse and a lot more Funhouse.
"Oh, I mean... " She trails off, clearing her throat. Can't break character! At least until training was over for the night... "No one knows fashion like I do. I'll just start a new trend," she says with a flip of her hair and an obnoxious laugh.
max definitely didn’t consider himself a musical expert but the workshops for sure helped him feel like he was quickly turning into one. juggling his time between uni, spring boys and workshops was tough but once he figured out a routine and schedule for himself, he was confident he could keep this going for at least the next trimester.
so sitting down now, taking a sip of his coffee, he hummed while hunched over his phone as he once again saw himself study with his cousin.
“so like... dancing in a musical can be all sorts of things. I feel like contemporary is a really big element... but I never thought that like... there was a musical where they even had to learn how to dance in roller-skates that’s so wicked man...”

slowly but surely, everything falls into place ( ft. @lgcseojin ).
run throughs were an inevitable necessity when it came to live theater. entrances, exits, blocking, and positions— all important pieces to an ever developing puzzle, a riddle with which nina found herself gradually becoming more intrigued with as the weeks passed. she wasn’t an actress, had no real want to stand on stage and recite the written word in what felt too close to slam poetry, but nina could feel herself beginning to hold a better appreciation for the artform in and of itself.
it wasn’t for her, and that was fine ( just like everything else in her life ). at the very least, it was something she could say she’d done.
it’s a new day, hoards of trainees and staff members alike floating about as preparations were made for the casts first run practice run of the show. there’s still an ample amount of time before they’re set to start, and even more time before ninas group is meant to step foot on stage for their first scene, so there’s time to kill. amongst the bodies, she finds company in seojin. “so, what’s it like— being something of a leading man in all of this?” her words are light, curious, as a brow lifts and the corners up her lips pull into a mild grin. truly, she’s curious about his thoughts.
If someone had told Byeongkwan six months ago that he would be starring in a musical, he probably would have laughed in their face, walked away, and circled back just to laugh again. Yet, here he was, projecting his voice and flashing jazz hands like the gold-star trainee that he was (and would continue to be as long as those little red dots continued to blink around the room). He knew a minor role wasn't much, but considering his lack of acting experience and the fact that he wasn't aiming for anything higher than guy who collects tickets #3, one could say Byeongkwan was doing pretty well for himself. Besides, a face like his had no business getting lost in the ensemble.
...And he wouldn't let anyone forget it. He had spent most of the break checking his hair in one of the camera's viewfinders, in the midst of yet another monologue about how "lucky" everyone was to witness his stage presence this early in his career. Jokingly, of course ( ...kind of ). The cameraman quickly grew bored of his self-admiration and wandered off to capture something productive, leaving Byeongkwan to his own devices until the trainees were called to their places.
So, it was time to do what he did best. To the delight of his characterization coach, his beloved horse head mask had been locked away in a prop closet. Until he was reunited with his old friend, a clunky medieval helmet would have to suffice. He was certain the wardrobe department wouldn't mind if he borrowed it for a while. Granted, no one was in costume for this run, but it was a rehearsal, after all. If anything, he was just being an overachiever.
He roamed around the room, pausing occasionally to strike a pose next to groups of trainees or wave at a camera. His silent bids for attention went relatively unnoticed - until he ran headfirst into one of the lighting stands, that is. Muttering a curse under his breath, he freed himself from the armor and took a moment to glance over his shoulder for potential witnesses, only to meet eyes with Jihan standing nearby. "Oh, hey... Have your healing powers started working yet? Got anything for headaches?"
