"We are not here for testing our intelligence, don't worry. I wouldn't be so interested in that either," Danny grimaces, as they walk through the arcade to find something much more enjoyable than that. It has been a long time since he'd personally had the chance to play games, especially in this type of setting. It simply wasn't something that came up for people with busy schedules. Ah, he feels like a rusty spoon. "Ohhhhh, those shooter games are fun in a team. We could do that, and then maybe later do some of the racing games where we play against each other. You're not allowed to let me win though..." Danny affirms with a nod, as he points towards a truck that had some fake weapons. "Look, they even have something that you can simulate the journey in. That's cool, ha. Want to try that one?" "Hope you have a good aim and can snipe more than fans hearts," Danny chuckles, stepping in to the fake truck first, taking a seat on the right, and allowing Hyoseop to settle in before the two of them started up the sequence. "Ohhh, we can even pick what type of character we are... Not sure how much that matters in an apocalypse though."

welp, hyoseop felt overwhelmed. he really wanted to get closer to danny, but hyoseop can’t even properly remember when he last stepped foot into an arcade, and there’s just… so much going on. he feels a bit overstimulated, but he doesn’t want to go home, he actually refuses to. when hyoseop joined type zero, parker was incredible at welcoming him, and hyoseop wants to welcome new members, just as well as he was welcomed. he bites his lip as he looks around, almost hard enough that he bleeds a bit.

“i don’t… think i’ve tried the shooter games before, but it does sound fun” he nods “should we start with that? we have lots of time, so i think we’ll be able to try quite a few games” he looks around, overwhelmed, there sure is a lot of games here. “while i’m good at shooting hearts fans’ way, not sure how good i’ll be at a shooting game” he chuckles. “eh! you can customize your character? this seems more complicated than last time i was here”.

when legacy encouraged hyoseop to make a cover for type zero’s youtube channel, hyoseop was ready to search for a song to rap. throughout hyoseop’s idol career, he’d always been confident in his rap skills, his dance and singing skills? not as much. he’d went to his sister for help, asking was song would fit him, then she questioned why he didn’t sing a song rather than rapping, he’d quickly replied ‘because i suck at singing’. yet the thought had kept him up, all he did was rap and look good, was there not more to him than that?

in the end he decided to sing, something completely out of his comfort zone. he’d picked up his guitar, which had collected dust over time, he’s pretty sure he hasn’t used it since being a trainee. picking a song had been difficult, mostly because hyoseop didn’t know what kind of song would fit him, and he’d went to a few friends along with his dad for advice. sure, it was just a cover, but to hyoseop it was more, it was proof he could do more than what he believed he could do.

the recording doesn’t go smoothly the first time, and hyoseop is quick to delete it, even though he hasn’t watched it all the way through. he does watch the second recording through, but it ends up deleted as well. hyoseop is stressing, can he really do this? he drinks his bottle of water, before sitting in front of the camera again. he plays his guitar, and doesn’t stare directly into the camera this time, that apparently helps, because the third recording goes smoothly.

hyoseop feels proud when he watches it through, sure he’s not the best singer in the world, and his rap in the song sounds much better, but he’s pretty proud of what he just made, hey, he can do more than just rap.

“i promise i’m not a creep!” were the first words escaping yoojin’s lips when he stared at hyoseop. he had been waiting to see another member back from their schedule, but did not expect one of them would find him in such a weird situation.  he had memories of the two of them meeting during occasional gym practice that became a little more routine for them, and then Hyoseop suddenly disappearing when, yoojin guessed, they shared some familiar and private territory. yoojin always wondered if he had crossed some line, and now being part of the same group would kind of force them to fix things - if there was something damaged, anyway. “crazy fan?” he frowned, surprised. he knew that kind of thing wasn’t as rare to happen, but it did creep him out the idea of a stranger invading their dorms. “is that something that i should worry about?”  standing up after making a fool of himself, yoojin decided to be a more educated human being and offered hyoseop a hand, “hi hyung. i’m glad to be part of type zero now.”

while hyoseop didn’t know particularly much about yoojin, the other did seem nice, and hyoseop wouldn’t complain about the other having been added to the group. “ah… crazy fans” he hums “it’s… it’s not too bad… i don’t want to scare you by telling you our crazy fan stories though” he shakes his head. there surely were some fans out there that were… questionable? and perhaps idol life wasn’t all shimmer and shine, but hyoseop was not about to tell that to yoojin.

“you’ve come far” he smiles to yoojin. “i’m glad to have you in type zero, it was fun to just live with iseul, but i did a bit miss having more dormmates” he shrugs. “have you met iseul yet? he’s very easy to get along with” he hums. “mind if i sit down on your bed, or are you… not done celebrating yet?”. hyoseop wanted to get closer to yoojin, in the more recent years, hyoseop had a bit forgotten how to make friends, but hey! that won’t stop him from trying.

minji listens intently, her bag hanging from her mid-arm and swinging as she moves them. it's hard not to notice how excited minji gets seeing a friend unexpectedly (and even expectedly, actually). "ah, that sounds great!" she says. "i'm sure she'll enjoy them. i haven't seen her yet today, let her know i said hello!" she thinks about what she remembers of type zero, remembering that they've gone a while with few members, similarly to fabula a few years ago. she also remembers when fabula collaborated with crystallis and nova, remembering how fresh it felt to be able to perform with the members you trained with, but didn't debut with. "it sounds like big things are coming!" she finally answers, having waited to make sure she didn't cut him off accidentally. "i'm sure you heard from sori, but we've been winding down our this is for promotions. we should be filming for one of our shows soon, but otherwise i think things are pretty quiet until the end of the year!"

hyoseop truly wished he would get to see minji more often, with his lack of idol friends, minji was very dear to him. mainly their interaction was through text, so hyoseop couldn’t help but feel like an excited puppy once he saw minji. “oh, she’s not home right now?” he hums, well, he hadn’t asked her if she was home before going to get snacks for her. he looks briefly at the bag in his hands, and then back at minji. “are you busy? heading somewhere? maybe we could come into your dorm and wait for sori to come back?” he tilts his head to the side, a bit scared it’s too much to ask for.

“mmhmm” he nods “it seems like a lot is happening in type zero right now. i’m a bit nervous about getting new members, i’m the one that’s been there the longest, so they might rely on me, but i suck at the leader role…” he hums. “oh yeah, this is for, it was a pretty catchy song, i’ve been trying to learn the choreography, but i’m struggling like hell… it’s embarrassing, i’ve been an idol for so long, yet i’m the slowest at learning choreographies”.

he was still jumping up and down, the moment of realization at what he had just accomplished hitting him like a hurricane, but yoojin didn’t care. the feeling was so good; he wanted to yell to people; too bad danny wasn’t around because they could definitely have a celebration with snacks. snacks. would they have snacks around for some celebration? should he go out and buy some? cook something for the other members, his members? that thought alone brought another round of giggles as he fell in bed, and, as he did it, his eyes found a silhouette standing by the door, looking absolutely…surprised? was that the expression? or maybe terrified? “holy shit, you scared me!”

while hyoseop did dearly miss his old members, it was quite exciting to get new members. he’d quickly grown close to iseul, and he hoped it would be the same for danny and yoojin. but while he didn’t know danny particularly well, he was familiar with yoojin, the two working out together here and there.

hyoseop was on his way home, having spent a bit of time at his dad’s place along with his sister, the three of them eating a meal together. he assumed nobody else would be home, so when he opened the door to a bit of noise, he was a bit confused, who was home right now? he’s pretty sure it isn’t iseul, so it’s hopefully yoojin or danny and not a crazy fan having made their way into the type zero dorm.

hyoseop follows the noise, just to find yoojin jumping up and down along with making excited noises, hyoseop isn’t sure what to do, so he kind of just ends up staring confusedly at the other. “you scared me as well” he says, placing his hands on his hips “i was afraid a crazy fan made their way into our dorm” he shakes his head. “enjoying your new room, or what are you doing?”.

( prev. ) no truer words have been said. jino had been so busy filming lately that it’s been hard to phone home — let alone go home ( not his physical home in seoul but his family home in new zealand — both were points his mom never failed to mention every chance she got ( which jino only knew because it was making jiah go insane and ultimately led to her having to send him a highly volatile text message about how he should at least consider a couple minutes to send their poor mother an ‘i’m okay’ text ) ; its just been hard and no where did jino had expected for time to get away from him this badly. hadn’t he once prided himself on being the best at staying connected amongst his friends? “i think the company has some tells too, i tend to notice whenever someone is coming back they seem to play their old stuff a bit more in the cafe. kind of like an easter egg sort of thing,” or maybe that was just jino’s interpretation of it. “i feel the same way,” jino shakes his head, “after last time, i felt like i had made a fool of myself on stream so i’m definitely surprised they extended the invitation for a shoot.”  “with what time? but i guess this makes up for it, i get to play the games i never had the time to play now.” plus it was a good career boost for the profile, not that jino had given much thought to his filmography but anything for a few moments of reprieve was a plus in his book. 

“i don’t know much about what’s happening in other groups beside type zero and fabula” he shrugs. while hyoseop and his sister weren’t exactly sure how much they were allowed to share with each other, they did pretty much share everything with each other. when a comeback was being prepared, the siblings would make sure to tell each other, and they had considered getting one of those apps, where you could put in your own schedule into a calendar, while also seeing the other person’s schedule. “i wonder how long in advantage the company decides there’ll be a comeback before the actual groups gets told” he hums.

“are you a gamer? i feel like i never properly had time to game…” he hums. “or maybe i’m just prioritizing different stuff” he shrugs. that might be it, because he does have a bit of time after practice, yet he generally always uses said time on working out. “i do wonder how long we’ll be modelling for nintendo” he hums, “i don’t mind modeling for it” ( yes he does, hyoseop does not like modeling) “but we can’t be models for the brand for forever, right?”.

"yeah, i can't imagine how it would be," he says, thinking about it. he feels like he had only joined recently, and he thinks about how he might feel in the future when other members are added after him. considering that type zero has the reputation of having members come and go, iseul knows it's probably inevitable that there will be new members one day. he hopes he can be as welcoming to them as hyoseop had been for him. "i'll do my best," iseul jokes, saluting at his friend as he picks up some more snacks to eat, humming softly after in answer to the question. "did you know i went to culinary school?" he asks, wondering if this was something that he had mentioned to his friend at all. he knows he's talked about it on interviews and shows, but he's never sure who would be listening and paying attention. "i would absolutely be a chef, probably. a private chef would be nice, but i also thought it would be fun to work in a restaurant ..." he trails off, taking a sip of water this time. "what about you?"

“well” he hums “type zero is known for having it’s members come and go” he shrugs. it did feel weird, how members had left while he had been in the group? he counts it in his head, it must’ve been six or seven? that’s quite a lot… “sometimes i’m surprised at how strong our fanbase is… i think it’d be hard to stan a group that changes so much” he takes a sip. “they’re rather welcoming at least… i was afraid the fans wouldn’t accept me at first, but zeniths welcomed me quite well”.

“oh? culinary school? growing up i worked at my parents’ restaurant, so i know a thing or two about cooking too” he nods his head. “we should cook together some time then, i’m sure we’d be able to create something delicious together” he smiles to the other. “if i hadn’t been an idol? i did consider modeling at some point, my dad’s a famous model” he hums “but i don’t really like modeling” he shrugs “i’ve been told i’m good at it, but that doesn’t change i don’t like having pictures taken of me”. “i think i’d wanna be a florist maybe? i do quite love flowers”.

It's funny. He's pretty sure the last memory he has of being alongside Hyoseop was when they ran in to one another when the other was dogsitting. Or something like that. He wouldn't have thought he'd be lined up to debut in his older brother's old group, and alongside seniors that he respected. It's good that their last run-in had been a cordial and rather kind one. Imagine if he and Hyoseop had a bad encounter. Well he'd swallow it and pretend it never happened and still be polite because he's the new kid on the block, who would not want to make a ruckus out of things. (Although if things had gone super sour... Well. Danny's not an entire idiot, maybe he wouldn't be a hundred percent silent but lets hope that isn't a scenario that would play out.) This day, Hyoseop and Danny find themselves at an arcade as an icebreaker of sorts. He'd had a few days to settle in to the dorm and new routine, but they were still not in sync regarding their schedules, considering Yoojin and Danny had a lot to catch up on to make things balance out a little bit more. Some time for relaxing. Yes, he'd let his guard down because the whole point was to enjoy themselves. "Oooh, I'll grab a drink later." An assortment of junky sodas to choose from. "But first... are you competitive?" There were a variety of co-op games but also some racing games and fighting games. Even the classic old pac-man but that's probably not what they were here for. "Oh they even have a photobooth in the corner there. We might have to take a commemorative photograph of us later. For the memory." Danny flashes a grin at Hyoseop, hoping the other doesn't find him too sentimental or cheesy. But this was a big thing for him!

while hyoseop did quite miss his old members, it was still exciting when new members joined. he’d managed to grow a bit close with iseul, but generally hyoseop struggled at getting close to people. considering how much time he would spend with the new members though, he figured it’d make quite a lot of sense to get to know them better, even though he technically already knew danny. hyoseop doesn’t think the two had interacted since the dog-incident, at least not of what hyoseop remembers. as an ice-breaker, the two went out to an arcade.

hyoseop nods “quite competitive, unless it’s a test of smartness, i give up on those” he shrugs. hyoseop was very competitive, but why be competitive at something he knew he’d never win? “ah? a photobooth?” hyoseop hums, he doesn’t exactly enjoy having pictures taken of him, still he nods “yeah sure, we can do that, it’ll make it easier to remember this memory” he smiles. “are you feeling more for a game where we’re against each other, or one where we’re on the same team?”.

an unexpected visitor

minji steps out of her dorm unit, bag in hand, prepping to head out to the company building. with most of their schedules over the next few weeks taking place in korea, but her soon traveling to spain to film under another name, minji decided to do some training on her own to make sure her skills are in top shape before activities become busy again. the girl walks over towards the elevator, when suddenly she sees hyoseop. "ah! hyoseop! what are you doing here?" she asks, before quickly realizing, "ah, are you here to see sori?" the idol approaches him, continuing to ask, "how are you doing? it's been a while! what has type zero been up to these days?" minji excitedly runs through all her questions, happy to get the chance to have a chat, even if it's just for a quick second in the hallway.

hyoseop and his sister had grown closer lately. while they were close as kids, when hyoseop moved away to live with their dad, some distance came between them, and the distance had been there for long. in the more recent years, they’ve grown to be close siblings again, both sucking at texting, yet managing to decently answer each other’s texts. they are both busy though, both being idols, and it’s not too often they actually manage to see each other. hyoseop had been out for a run, when he ran past a convenience store he stopped in his steps, and decided to buy some snacks for his sister. so that’s what he did, stopping his run a bit early to pick up some things for sori. 

he doesn’t even see minji until she talks, too busy with his own thoughts. a smile immediately pop up on his lips though, excited to see minji “minji! it’s been too long”. while hyoseop didn’t have a lot of idol friends besides his members, minji was a dear friend to him, they were often too busy to see each other though, most of their interaction being through text. “yeah, i’m bringing some snacks for sori” he says with a smile on his lips. “type zero?” he hums “we’ve been interacting a lot with vna lately” he shrugs “and i’m not sure if this it out yet, but i trust you to keep a secret, some new members are joining”.

he blinks, a little curious about that but deciding not to ask for any elaboration from hyoseop. it was something that he had learned immediately, everyone's birthdays and birth years, so he could speak to them with the appropriate amount of respect due to whether they were older or younger than him. so, he was pretty sure he could figure out this question.

"do you remember where the question was? i'm pretty sure i can do it," jiho says instead of anything else, a little amsued as he starts calculating it in his head as he waits for the other to lead the way towards said question. "i asked everyone's birthday right away, so i'm pretty sure i remember them all," he adds, in way of an explanation. grinning at what hyoseop had said, jiho nods in agreement. "they only gave me a small hint of where the location was, but it's a pretty good hint," he says, humming a little bit and he wonders if it would be worth it to just head there right now, now that he's found someone else to bring with him. but a small part of him wonders if he's wrong.

truthfully, maybe it was a bit embarrassing that he didn’t know everybody’s birthday, and not just that, but their age as well. hyoseop wasn’t particularly good at remembering stuff, but he’d managed to remember the birthdays of his old members; baekhyun, kai and parker. they left, and hyoseop was kind of back to not really knowing people’s birthday. he had managed to learn iseul’s, he’s pretty sure… he knows who’s older and younger than him, he just doesn’t know most people’s exact age…

“it should be that way” he says, pointing back to where he came from “if you think you can solve it, maybe we should go” he shrugs. “i don’t think riddle solving is a skill of mine” he shakes his head “if we come across other riddles on our way, i’ll try to help you, but be prepared to probably do them by yourselves” he shrugs. “at least i look good right now, the viewers have something nice to look at” he chuckles.

"we can collaborate but yes i do have the final say," jisoo smiles, teeth in a big smile, canines out on display. at the colours hyoseop indicated, they were rather warm so jisoo put away the cool toned outfit and held up the warmer outfit which had browns and more orange-toned colours. and he could give the more gold-toned accessories to him for the shoot. lighting would help too. "i'm open to suggestion though," it wasn't as if he was a haute couture house where they had a very specific look in mind and no one else had anything to say about it. "so if you hate it, let me know." "and no big deal bout personal colour. i've heard that people can get different colours assigned to them because its all opinion anyway." setting aside the items they wouldn't be using, he or the other stylist would tidy it up later and put it back into the working closet. "it's a good situation for both of us so i'd rather have everyone be comfortable and happy, especially since we are working together. so try this on and then i'll go grab the accessories for the finishing touches. hyoseop and aeri were filming most of their parts separately until their final shot together at the end. so this part would only be hyoseop's portion.

“i think i’ll trust you on this… i’m not particularly stylish nor good at picking out outfits” hyoseop looks down at himself, his too tight white t-shirt, dark blue sweatpants, and of course a pair of sandals. while hyoseop knew how to style his hair and do his makeup, he was lost on when it came to styling himself outfit-wise. to be fair, his closet was rather boring, it was mainly just sweatpants in a million different colours, and too many white t-shits. “from what i’ve seen, you’re better at styling than me” he shrugs. “i don’t think i’ll hate anything you put me in, but if it’s too bad, i’ll let you know” he smiles to the other.

“ah, thank you!” hyoseop says as he receives the outfit, soon after vanishing. once done changing his outfit, he walks his way back to jisoo “so, what do we think? do i look good?”, he hasn’t personally looked in the mirror yet, but he also trusts jisoo’s styling skills enough to that he believes he won’t need a mirror. “there were some accessories too, yeah? should i try putting those on as well?”.

“it’s rare, isn’t it? i think it’s been a while since any of the actors in lgc agency have been a part of the lgc groups’ music videos either, and that’s usually one way the groups interact.” aeri expressed her thoughts out loud before adding a lighthearted remark. “i guess the lgc actors are so elusive that it’s like winning the lottery when you get to work with any of them.”  “i’ve been casually following some of the models and their brands ever since i was one of the models for jinseo’s brand. i don’t know the exact process that they go through, but i feel like their model brands showcase a side to them that you don’t normally get to see from their projects and gigs.” she nodded as she began leading the way towards where the products were.  “when i was a model for elysium, jinseo gave me a book about greek mythology to help me understand the thought process behind the cf since he really loves mythology. for jisoo, i’ve always admired how elegant and timeless a lot of the accessories are, which reflects the image that some of the fans have about him.” aeri explained as she noticed the table that had all of the items laid out for them and the stylists. “ooh, these hair barrettes are my style!” she pointed out the accessory that stood out the most to her before looking at hyoseop to see his initial reaction.

“it is rare” he nods “you’d think with us being in the same company, we would interact more” he shrugs. there was so many people in legacy though, not just trainees, but idols, actors, models and so much more, it hadn’t been like that in his old company. he’d been in a company before legacy, not particularly big though, they never managed to debut a group, but the company was small enough that it felt like you knew everyone, in legacy it’s like he constantly sees a new face or hears an unfamiliar name. “we’re more separated than i thought we would be” he shrugs again.

“ah, i didn’t know you modelled for jinseo’s brand” hyoseop hums, he thinks back to jinseo, while the two haven’t seen each other in a while, he sure does miss working out with jinseo. “do you have a lot of experience with modelling? i guess besides concept photos for comebacks, i generally don’t do a lot of modeling” he shakes his head. “ah! it seems like jisoo designed some cool things” he smiles “i’m honored we’re the ones that get to promote this”.

"yeah, i think that's just a normal fear when you're joining an already established group," iseul says, swigging a mouthful of soju and smacking his lips together as he feels the burn go down his throat and he lets out a satisfied sound. never had he thought he would be swigging alcohol in the dorms to celebrate, despite the fact that it had been something he had suggested back when he had first joined. he does act a little bashful when hyoseop mentions that the fans love him, though, pretending to be shy and waving a hand in the other's direction while covering his face. once his little act is over, he picks at the chips in between them and shoves one in his mouth. he laughs a little bit, nodding at the other's words solemnly. "i will," he says, placing a hand over his heart like he's swearing an oath. "with that though, i think you need to learn to let loose every once and a while. cheat days are okay!"

“it feels weird though… once i was the newest member, now i’m the one that’s been here the longest” he takes another sip. it left him with an ambivalent feeling, he was happy to be in type zero, he was happy to have iseul in type zero, but he missed his old members so much. it hurt, having to see parker, kai and baekhyun go, he’d grown so close to those three, now he doesn’t remember when he last spoke with them. the thought makes him a little depressed, and his next sip is much more than just a tiny sip.

“maybe you can teach me cheat days are okay” he takes a sip before smiling to the other. he’s not sure if it will happen though, he’s been on this strict diet for years, can he suddenly just accept cheat days? “if you weren’t an idol, what would you be?” he finds himself curious about the other, he barely knew of iseul before the other joined type zero.

"yes, it's a little bit different. we usually have upbeat, or sometimes even jazzy songs? i don't think it's necessarily what is trending but we're like the 'opposite' side of what versus music is like. think.. easy-listening?" yushin tries to explain, though its harder to try to push all of their songs into one generic category. " "although unless they give us full right to compose, i don't know if we have much ...sway in what our song choice would be for title tracks. do you like composing or do you have any interest in composing? or do you have interest in choreography?" yushin loved the creative side of being an idol, but he knows that everyone had different approaches to the career. "i'm happy when i like the title song they give us though, since we usually have to perform it so many times." and likely for the next few months on repeat. and again if a concert happened in the future. the group was definitely smaller over time but he thinks that tva had good chemistry. "i wonder if they'll keep us as this unit for a prolonged time."

“i do like composing songs yeah” he nods his head “i’m a terrible dancer though, so i don’t think i’d be particularly good at creating choreographies” he shrugs. hyoseop hadn’t really had the chance yet to have a lot of creative freedom, and majority of the songs he wrote didn’t even come further than out of his room. he would like to be more creative, but he’s aware he still isn’t the best at being creative, at least not when it comes to making songs or choreographies. “and you? any interest in composing or choreographing?” he runs a hand through his hair, looking at yushin as he awaits an answer.

“i’m curious too… i cannot lie… i wonder how long type zero and vna will do stuff together” he hums “we’re both starting to lack in members, so i see the meaning in having us do stuff together, it’s exciting” he nods. “and as much as i like iseul, it’s nice to see and practice with other people than just him” he chuckles. “my guess though? this isn’t the last time they’ll have us do stuff together”.
