3.  Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do?

oh soooo many I feel like everything i’ve ever written has been inspired a little bit by something i’ve read but specifically

obviously quarantine fic if these walls could talk (they've seen way too many things) my dearest helen @calumcest why a whole bunch of us are here to begin with, but truly was my first reminder in a few years about how good fic can be and like there are so many reasons why I wouldn’t even be writing if not for helen. along the same lines as you molly ALSO have my love bella @clumsyclifford and  a hero, a liar as it was the first fic i reblogged here and bella has influenced and inspired me every single day since then. i also cannot go without mentioning you @staticsounds  Can't Deny The Moment When I Taste It gbbo cake!!!! this calum will inspire all my calums from here on out. this is in addition to everything you write which inspires me to work harder to create tangible and complex characters because you are so masterful at it every single time. in terms of cake writing everything Emmybazy has ever written i am indebted to them for my cake journey, i read everything they ever wrote back to back and that’s where my cake obsession began

20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

ok I'm gonna cheat i have two, one is kind of like yours, where you’re so fucking inspired that you can’t get the words down fast enough (also the “i don’t normally read cake thing but”... bliss) and the other is when you’ve posted and you’re seeing your friends enjoying it. seeing the things you’ve created bring someone else joy is a special kind of crack and i live for it

21. What’s your least favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?

this is specific but for me it's the bit when you’re just before the end? when you’ve got a couple more bits to do but your brain is already so done with the fic. which feeds into the other thing i hate which is editing, mainly because i’m not very good at it. the grammar bit is not my strong point by virtue of me being a scientist so it's really hard for me to pick up on my own errors

31. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

I’m gonna sound like you again here sorry it's the meg and molly connection but It’s interesting because obviously luke x100 but i have actually been loving writing calum so much for the same reasons, he’s so interesting to characterise and explore in terms of motivation vs action. specifically though, indie luke is one of my favourite lukes and i loved people finding him as funny as i did

37. Give an update on your current WIP - if you don’t have one, give a sneak peek to a title or idea that you have and would like to write.

oh god ok so it’s 4.4k and i am still yet to decide if i hate it or not. i think i’m coming around to it. i don’t want to give anything away so have this completely unimportant piece of dialogue:  “You’re a fucking nightmare,” Ashton says, rolling his eyes. “As if you could get rid of me that easily, I’m too charmed by your effervescent personality.”
