Yes, I am aware of their label and respective bosses. When you Google 1D’s label you come up with:

One Direction (the band) is signed to Syco, Columbia, Universal Music Group and Legacy.

Louis’ solo label:

Harry’s solo label:

Zayn’s solo label:

Love, take a good look at this please and tell me what do they have in common? Exactly, all of them are STILL signed to Syco records. Syco is Simon Cowell’s record label. He shares it with Sony music entertainment. Sony is the devil, Michael Jackson has said that and multiple other artists. All of them are also signed to Columbia Records, and guess what my love? Columbia is a part of Sony Music. Sony has different branches, Columbia, Syco, RCA, Arista are ALL under Sony’s control. Sony is the ‘mother organisation’. Louis is also signed to Epic Records, now you may think that it is a good thing, but the ‘mother organisation’ of Epic Records is Columbia. Columbia’s ‘mother organisation’ is Sony, my love.

So, no matter how much we might think 1D is free, they are not. They just place 1D in different branches of Sony’s label. They are still signed to Sony and Syco until the contract is over, pup. Oh, something I forgot to mention is that Simon Cowell is the founder of Syco. Each winner of The X Factor (Simon’s show) is automatically signed to his label (Syco). If you sign the contract there is no way back, you can be faced with lawsuits, family threats and other horrible things. That is why 1D and other celebrities can not speak up. I am going to create a post about this one soon.
