Easiest solution really isn't always the best
Kids in danger online? Let's ban the Internet for children! -> leads to ID laws and privacy loss, kids still get on the Internet anyways
Pedophiles exist? Let's just kill all of them! -> lives get worse for child victims in attempts to cover up crimes, what happens if someone is falsely accused but still killed as, for example, many black men in history have been. what if trans and gay people get reclassified as pedophiles? (This specifically is a huge loaded issue so I apologize for any lack of detail or nuance)
An actual fix to these problems takes systemic change , which takes time. But that's not fast or rewarding. It takes time. But people aren't patient.
I don't have an answer for the second example, but for the first.. Give children more things to do outside so they don't want to sit online all day because it's the only entertainment available. Create websites for them to actually enjoy that are safe for them(and no micro transactions), in fact government funded sites that are oriented towards children would probably be a good example of this.
This problem is very large, more societal than simple solutions could fix, even my suggestions are just small ones, but it's better than total elimination of privacy that alot of people seem ok with because it's the easy way out.
ID laws don't fix parental negligence, they don't fix how uncaring parents are to just not play with their children. They won't fix any problems with online predators, as children can just circumvent requirements and get online anyways, still allowing them to be preyed upon.
Blah blah pretend there's other things I can't fit in here. It's of course tempting to take the easiest way out, but it's often just irresponsible and dangerous.
