yk what i hate?
when comic artists adjust their art so their characters look similar/ alike to their live action adaptations. like black widow looks like scarlett johansson in some versions. and superman looking like whichever actor is has been casted as him. and yeah i know its not in all comics of that character, but the fact that it happens so movie-lovers pick up the comics to read just gets on my nerves. i dont wanna be staring at robert pattinson during a batman comic or an ezra miller as the flash look-a-like (which i never agreed with that casting choice)
i understand why they do it (for more traction mostly) but i kinda just want my movies/ tv shows and comics separate? the only exception ill accept is if the comics were made in the same continuity/ universe as the video media (e.g. young justice created comics in the art style of yj kinda filling in part inbetween episodes which was cool).
honestly i think the only character id be fine with seeing the actor as the character in comics is iron-man. i personally havent read much marvel comics (or at all) but if ironman looks similar to rdj i would enjoy it, cause hes iconic. rdj and ironman introduced the world of marvel (and dc) to mass media and society.
