Max was pacing his office. He did that whenever he was in a bind and needed to clear his thoughts, he wanted to get peace and didn't know how to achieve it. He was already avoiding some of the slaves and staff as he didn't want the memories to flood back into his mind. The phone rang and he ignored it, who the hell would be calling him now. He lit a cigar and paced the room, he could smoke now, it wasn’t like he was going to die. He was already dead. One of the perks of being a vampire. Once the ringing stopped he walked over to his desk and looked at the last caller. Wondering what it could be about. When he saw it was Libby, he hit the voicemail button and listened. At first, a smile fell across his face at the sound of how drunk she was. But then it was something in her words that caught him off guard, He could pass it off as drunken rambling but drunken people always tell the truth. He picked up the phone and pressed redial and waited for to answer
