                       luciana  didn't  know  if  there'd  ever  be  a  day  when  seeing  dontaz  𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐍'𝐓  make  her  want  to  immediately  turn  around  and  run  for  the  hills  . . .  she  didn't  know  if  there'd  also  ever  be  a  day  when  she  𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍'𝐓  ignore  those  feelings  to  get  the  hell  out  of  dodge  .  that  she  didn't  go  against  every  voice  in  the  back  of  her  head  and  go  up  to  him  anyways  .           ⏤           almost  as  if  she  was  trying  to  act  𝐔𝐍𝐅𝐀𝐙𝐄𝐃  and  𝐔𝐍𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃  by  being  in  his  presence  ,           (      despite  them  both  knowing  that  couldn't  be  any  further  from  the  truth  .     )           luciana  pressed  her  lips  together  ,  flipping  some  of  her  hair  back  and  behind  her  shoulder  .         ❛     dontaz  ,     ❜         she  asked  ,  still  trying  to  seem  unaffected  even  though  she  was  currently  𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆  on  the  inside  .          ❛     so  many  people  here  and  we  still  manage  to  run  into  each  other  .  not  sure  what  that  says  about  either  of  us  .      ❜          other  than  ,  it  said  that  she  𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐍'𝐓  stay  away  but  that  was  besides  the  point  .

                     as  the  day  started  creeping  into  the  night  ,  tristan  was  already  drunk  ,  high  . . .  name  it  ,  he  was  𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  and  𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  imaginable  .  taking  a  break  from  the  crowds  ,  tristan  stood  near  the  side  of  some  merchandise  tents  before  his  gaze  was  directed  to  the  very  familiar  figure  .  sure  ,  he  probably  𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃'𝐕𝐄  left  simone  alone  . . .  for  so  many  reasons  .  he  was  already  forcing  her  to  work  with  him  .  the  least  he  could  do  was  leave  her  alone  when  they  were  outside  the  studio  but  as  if  he  was  a  moth  to  the  flame  .  tristan  made  his  way  over  to  the  girl  .          ❛     you  were  amzing  up  there  today  .     ❜         tristan  mentioned  ,  despite  her  being  off  the  stage  for  a  bit  now  .  it  was  still  𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄  and  the  words  couldn't  be  any  more  true  .          ❛      can  i  get  you  a  drink  ?     ❜         there  was  something  that  seemed  inappropriate  about  trying  to  spend  time  with  simone  without  the  𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐄𝐒  he  was  using  to  spend  time  with  her  .          (     making  music  together  being  one  of  them  .     )          but  here  he  was  ,  unable  to  pull  himself  away  from  her  .          ❛     i  promise  ,  i  come  in  peace  .  no  fighting  ,  just  a  drink  between  . . .  colleagues  .     ❜

                the  first  mistake  was  showing  up  at  dontaz's  place  in  the  first  place  .  eyes  rolled  as  she  stood  there  ,  crossing  her  arms  .  in  a  way  it  was  like  a  sick  joke  . . .  as  much  as  she  couldn't  stand  him  . . .  she  𝐊𝐄𝐏𝐓  coming  back  .  more  than  likely  because  she  knew  she  shouldn't  .          ❛     don't  make  it  into  a  thing  ,  dontaz  . . .     ❜         already  𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆  the  𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄  of  telling  herself  she  wouldn't  end  up  around  dontaz  anymore  and  knowing  he  was  going  to  call  her  out  for  it  no  matter  what  she  said  .  she  let  out  a  frustrated  sigh  ,          ❛      me  being  here  doesn't  𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘  mean  a  thing  ,  okay  ?  i'm  just  . . .  𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐃  .     ❜          she  did  have  a  knack  for  her  reckless  or  impulsive  behavior  at  times  .  always  running  to  things  that  she  probably  shouldn't  have  in  order  to  fill  whatever  void  she  was  trying  to  fill  with  the  wrong  things  .

                  opening  the  door  ,  luciana  practically  pulled  nigel  inside  .  dragging  them  into  the  kitchen  where  she  was  cooking  some  chicken  stir - fry  .          ❛     i'm  so  glad  you're  here  !  i'm  trying  this  new  recipe  and  i  𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃  someone  to  try  it  !     ❜          almost  𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃  ,  she  pulled  out  one  of  the  barstools  that  was  next  to  the  counter  .  that  way  he  could  sit  down  while  she  finished  cooking  the  meal  she  had  prepared  for  the  two  of  them  .         ⏤         nigel  and  luciana  were  an  unexpected  pair  ,  at  least  to  the  outside  eye  .  nigel  being  more  to  himself  and  luci  being  very  bubbly  and  uppity  in  her  own  right  .  but  at  the  end  of  the  day  ,  she  felt  like  he  was  one  of  the  𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐄  people  that  actually  understood  her  .

                   grabbing  a  dress  off  one  of  the  racks  ,  luciana  held  it  up  in  front  of  herself  before  glancing  over  at  simone  .          ❛     what  do  you  think  ?  does  this  dress  say  something  along  the  lines  of  . . .  i'm  sorry  but  this  is  𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑  happening  again  and  i  think  i  actually  hate  you  ?     ❜         luciana  was  teasing  around  . . .  although  . . .  the  person  she  was  talking  about  . . .  if  there  was  a  dress  that  could  give  her  the  𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑  to  do  said  task  ,  she  would  buy  said  dress  .          ⏤          placing  the  dress  back  down  on  the  rack  ,  she  let  out  a  sigh  .           ❛     please  give  me  some  good  news  . . .  how're  things  going  ?     ❜          and  by  that  she  didn't  exactly  mean  she  had  to  just  say  something  good  .  luciana  always  there  to  hear  simone  out  through  𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  on  her  mind  .

❛ it wasn't that long ago that we actually could handle being around each other and maybe , i don't know ? actually enjoy it . . . ❜ tristan spoke , did he really have the right to say anything or have any say in how she should 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋 or be 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 , ( not at all . ) but if they were going to work on music together . . . they had to find a way to at least be able to somewhat stand being around each other , right ? then again , the 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 was coming off a little strong in a moment like this . tristan wanting to make a name for himself in the music scene . take a turn into something different and finally share his music . or maybe he told himself he was using her for her pull in the music scene because admitting that he possibly 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 her would be something he could never actually admit . coming off as a heartless human being seemed like the safer route . . . besides it wasn't like it wasn't completely off base on either sides of the spectrum . a bit of truth to both things .
