Progressive Agenda Worth Fighting For: 2017 Edition

1.) Single-Payer Healthcare For All 2.) Federal Jobs Guarentee: bring back the 1974 Humphrey-Hawkins Full-Employement Act 3.) Federal Protections FOR ALL LGBTQ PEOPLES 4.) A REAL path for citizenship for ALL Dreamers and illegal immigrants who work and pay taxes. 5.) Expand Social Security: there are currently multiple bills in Congress to expand and strengthen Social Security for future generations, while guaranteeing the wealthy pay their fair share into the program like all the rest of us! 6.) Eliminate ALL subsidies for Big Oil & Gas industries and begin FULLY subsidizing and supporting Renewable Energy sources for a FULL conversion to a Carbon-free Economy 7.) Make ALL PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES TUITION FREE and FORGIVE ALL CURRENT OUTSTANDING STUDENT LOAN DEBT!!!! 8.) Pass a new Voting Rights Act for the 21st Century that GUARENTEES the right to vote for ALL citizens regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, class or social status! NO MORE VOTER ID LAWS!!! 9.) Federally Guaranteed Public Transportation & Job Training: in a world where the economy and jobs can shift rapidly in various fields to various locations, a Federal Guarantee to modern Public Transportation and Job Training isn't just a luxury, it's a necessity. Give the workforce the tools they need to find new work and sources of income for their families so another "Great Recession" can never again destroy the livelihoods of so many families for so long a time 10.) TRUELY PROGRESSIVE TAX REFORM: since the 1980's when Reagan and his "Supply-Siders" cut taxes on the wealthy while cutting back Federal Aid to the states, taxes have become more and more regressive. High Property taxes in the states made up for the Federal Aid that used to be paid for by high end marginal tax rates on the wealthy, but this means the Working & Middle Classes bear the brunt of the tax load while virtually guaranteeing an unequal education system dependant on wealthier tax payers who sequester themselves into small patches of neighborhoods throughout the country while Working & Middle Class neighborhood's schools get gutted. We can change this system be raising Marginal Tax-Rates on the wealthy back to their Post WWII highs of 70-95%, using the money to support local Public Schools and Libraries with money that no longer has to be dredged from the lowest income homeowners. This will also have the added benefit of greatly reducing Inequality over time through better educations for Working and Middle Class students while re-establishing an effective cap on incomes earned by the top 1% of earners. ALL OF THESE IDEAS ARE DOABLE AND MANY WERE IDEAS PREVIOUSLY IMPLEMENTED IN THE POST WWII YEARS RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA. THESE PROGRESSIVE POLICIES HELPED CONTRIBUTE TO THE MASSIVE BOOM IN THE ECONOMY SEEN THROUGHOUT THE POST WAR YEARS FROM THE 1940's-1970's AND ONLY WHEN SUCH POLICIES WERE ABANDONED DOD INEQUALITY GROW OUT OF CONTROL. IT'S TIME AMERICAN CITIZENS ORGANIZED AND STAND UP IN SOLIDARITY TO CHALLENGE THE POLTICAL ELITE IN BOTH PARTIES AND THE CORPORATE MASTERS THEY SO HAPPILY OBLIGE. IT'S TIME TO STAND UP TO THE WEALTHIEST CLASS OF MODERN SLAVE DRIVERS WHO WOULD HAPPILY SEE US ALL IN CHAINS LABORING TO INCREASE THEIR WEALTH. STAND UP! ORGANIZE! TIME TO SAY 'ENOUGH'S ENOUGH' AND TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK FOR THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, NOT JUST THE TOP 1%!!!!

Notice how people no longer make actions based on Empathy? It's mostly all political and I've noticed that generally the liberal left operate with more Empathy, most of the time anyway. I'm noticing since the inauguration, since the wars and genocides, people don't care if a baby was burned alive, or a woman is being a deported with her child, or that some people can't live now without being fearful for their lives. And it makes me wonder if people were once empathetic but now the world has made them more cold and with time, these things don't matter but rather the results matter. I explore both sides of the political isle and I've seen people saying that deporting "illegals" will mean less tax money spent on them and I suppose that makes sense if you're wanting more money or struggling to survive but does that really fix anything? That doesn't fix the wealth inequality gap and if those immigrants were employed and now not, it just means less circulation of money. They're being misled to think that foreigners are the reason for their monetary issues. But of course that's how they get you. I think it's super important that for the next few years we actively encourage one another to speak to other members of a different culture and countrymen because it will not only build up that understanding of one another but it might just remind everyone that it's not us vs them..it's just us and we have more in common with each other than a politician. That person who might get deported, you guys both like dragon ball z, that kid trying to survive from a drone strike, you both watched the same youtubers before their internet was shutdown, the trans person isn't just a "blue hair furry" but a kind person who would play super mario wonder with you if you just asked. Or even the fact that some of these people might like different things but you appreciate their differences and views. Because at the end of the day, politicians and lobbyists who want to turn people against each other for money and control are the ones you should be getting mad at. Hating each other is what they want because hate destroys understanding and empathy, it destroys their narrative, the minute you question if "destroying the woke narrative" will hurt the people you care about or the people you care about, care about, it makes all the difference.
