The Libra Room

So this weekend my friends and I decided to head over to Commercial Drive to see what kind of entertainment we could find. We thought it would be a nice change from our usual Richmond or Downtown locations. We never really ever head over to the east side of Vancouver.

When we first arrived there, we happened to park just outside a bar that had a big crowd of people and live music. We decided to go inside to see if we could find a place to sit but it was fully packed! It was so busy that people were just enjoying the music and atmosphere standing. We decided to leave and see if we could find another venue where we could find a seat. As we walked up and down Commercial, there were other bars but none like the first one we went to. Because of this we decided to go back and see if any spots opened up. Arriving back at the bar, it was still really busy but we were able to find a smaller table and just grabbed some extra chairs.

The name of the restaurant/bar was the Libra Room. It was awesome! They had a live band that played several times throughout the night. They played a variety of different reggae beats, latin and upbeat songs. The atmosphere was very positive and everyone was really nice there. They also had a cool area near the back that was like a lounge but it wasn't really accessible due to it being so busy.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try out the food but I can tell you that it smelled and looked really good. A waitress walked by with a plate of calamari and it smelled so good. Maybe I will try it next time and let you guys know how it was.

Overall I really liked Libra Room and would definitely go back.
