Youth Project --- The movement for the establishment of a library for boys and girls in Notre Dame de Grace is now fully launched, with a representative committee functioning under the auspices of the Community Council, which is entirely distinct from the N.D.G. Community Hall.

A delegation representative of the community, waited upon the city this week and was received by Councillor J. O. Asselin, chairman of the Executive Committee, who received a request for a grant of money toward the library project.

Councillor Asselin offered the delegation a room in the Community Hall, for the location of the library, but no financial grant. The organizations backing the library enterprise are considering the proffered accommodation. It is pointed out that if the room is accepted, a financial grant will be needed to carry the plan through to fruition.

The delegation was composed of: Mrs. J. F. Cartier, chairman of the library committee, St. Matthew's Church; J. M. C. Duckworth, Y.M.C.A.; Mrs. H. A. Dale, Notre Dame de Grace Women's Club; V. O. West, Boy Scouts, District Commissioners for N.D.G.; J. E. Lally, St. Augustine's Church; Canon R. K. Naylor, Trinity Memorial Church; Rabbi F. Berger, Shaare Zion Synagogue; D. S. Penton, Lower Canada College; J. A. Gagnon, Snowdon Business Men's Association; J. K. Christie, Wesley United Church; A. M. Patience, Willingdon Home and School Association; Mrs. Blake Dennis, St. Malachy's Church; Councillors John Rowat and A. Quintin; and Mrs. Harold Newman, publicity, library committee.

In addition to the requested city grant, which Councillor Asselin has promised to submit to his colleagues on the City Council, $5,000 was being sought from interested friends and a campaign committee has been formed, with J. M. C. Duckworth as chairman, W. V. G. Neish, 4142 Harvard avenue, is treasurer.
