The wait list for the PHM book has gotten so long the library has had to order new copies to keep up. I keep getting distracted reading through bits and pieces when I find one in delivery. 😅

Crowdsourcing my job bc despite being a librarian I am not particularly widely read in the Queer Rep genre (I mostly read weird scifi that is queer secondarily and which ideally had little to no romance in it, which is great but not generally what the average person wants in a queer book): what books and/or movies should I put on my pride display at my library this year?
We get weird stuff shoved inside books in the book drop at the library all the time. But two slices of Swiss cheese stuck to a DVD case...that’s a first for everyone here.
Every year I make it gayer if I can. Happy Pride ya'll!
one of my storytime kids saw me in the wild today (at a grocery store) and was like :O IT'S YOU. MAMA LOOK I KNEW I SAW THEM and i was like hey buddy! good to see ya. and as we parted ways i could just hear him going "i told you i told you i saw martin it was martin i told you!"
and then he saw me AGAIN at ANOTHER grocery store 45 minutes later and was like :O !!!!! IT'S YOU AGAIN and his mama was like "yeah i had to tell him you don't actually live in the library using soft books as pillows" and i was like man i wish i did, that sounds so nice
Kid at the science demonstration I was doing today: *drops an egg in a much too full cup of water with lots of green food coloring, and the water goes everywhere including his clothes* oops
Me: Congratulations! You have just discovered the principle of displacement. *gives explanation and also a roll of paper towels*
Same kid 15 minutes later: *steps onto the little rolling cart that the chairs stack up on and then jumps backwards off of it before I could stop him, causing the cart to shoot out from under his feet, almost wiping out* OOPS
Me: ...CONGRATULATIONS, you just discovered Newton's third law of motion! For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. You are such a scientist today!
Kid: :D
today is day one of my three weeks off but the universe said you WILL think about libraries on your vacation (found a book in our Airbnb that clearly belongs to a library in California)
