Soso, a girl only half an inch tall, lives on top of a bookcase in the library. Her job is to erase words from library books — the ones that the book characters want to get rid of. But one day, some of these unwanted words refuse to disappear. Soso has no choice but to take them home.

At home, Soso begins to play fun games with the words and discovers how much she enjoys their company. But one day, during their play, Soso and the words fall into a hole and land on the library floor. Seeing how excited the words are at the sight of all the books, Soso decides to find each of them a new home among the library’s many shelves. The library is transformed into a fantastic playground for all.
