I think what’s been most amazing over the past two and a half years is how the narrative has managed, with a remarkably smooth change of gears, to go from “We’ll all be better off to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds a week and there’s literally no downside to any of this” to “We can just forage for seaweed, who needs fresh food anyway?”
