"Asks 30 Days, But Not in Jail," Border Cities Star. April 20, 1934. Page 3. ---- Samuel Mock Wants Time to Pay His License Fee ---- "GIVE me 30 days," pleaded Samuel Mock, of 613 Elliott street, when he appeared in Magistrate Smith's court at East Windsor to-day.
The request caused a chuckle in the courtroom, but it wasn't actually, as it might have sounded to the spectators, a plea for a standard-length jail term. Mock was charged with peddling without a license and he wanted time to get the license money together.
Magistrate Smith was willing to give Mock time, but not a month. If Mock pays up in a week, he was given to understand, everything will be all right. But if he doesn't, the Mock trial will be proceeded with.
