BOWLING!

We've managed to get an awesome 50% off deal at Hollywood Bowl for Wednesday 15th June! It's £6.95 for two games, and a free drink (under-18s will have to have a non-alcoholic drink). There will also be a prize for the best score! If you want to come with us, sign up in student services or send an email to [email protected]

We'll be meeting outside Liverpool Guild of Students at 6.30pm, and getting taxis to the bowling alley. The society will cover the cost of the taxis, so don't worry about the extra cost. 

There's also a bar and arcade at the bowling alley (you will have to bring extra money for alcohol, or change for the machines in the arcade).

Student Pick - Yang Gao

  (Each fortnight, we showcase a recommendation from one of the students in the Society for something to do or see in Liverpool. Featured in the February 14th 2011 newsletter)

                                      "Samba (dance and drum) Class in the Black-E: An excellent way to keep fit, meet new people, learn something new and make Mondays less boring. You can learn sexy moves of samba dancing and play all kinds of drums in a big band. It's in the Black-E (next to the Chinese Arch), 7:30-8:30pm (dance) and 8:30-10:30pm (drum) every Monday, free for first 12 weeks. There's also a samba (drum) workshop every Saturday 2:30-4:30pm, completely for free. All instruments are provided and beginners welcome."

Meeting tomorrow!

The LICSociety are meeting tomorrow (February 4th 2011) at 3.15pm. Any students who want to attend, meet at the Liverpool International College reception.

We'll be discussing the upcoming Language Exchange programme, social events and listening to any ideas you have. Feel free to come along if you're not a member to get a taste of the society (and by all means bring a friend). Members who have signed up online will be given their Membership Cards and Guild discount cards.

'Liverpool Ferry Trip: A very good way to enjoy the waterfronts of Liverpool and spot the "three graces". You can also see the estuary in the far horizon, with giant wind turbine generators. It's £5 for unlimited trips across in one day.'
