Tourist guide drowns after saving five tourists from Lidder river in Pahalgam, body retrieved
Srinagar: A tourist guidebook lost his life right after conserving 5 holidaymakers, which includes two foreigners, from Lidder river at the well known Pahalgam resort in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials mentioned on Saturday.
A Raft capsized at rafting issue in Mawoora Pahalgam in the south Kashmir district on Friday immediately after it was caught in sudden gusty winds and all passengers onboard fell in the Lidder river, the officials mentioned.
They stated a tourist guideline — Rouf Ahmed Dar — without the need of caring for his individual protection, rescued all the vacationers from the rapid flowing drinking water of the river, but misplaced his life.
“Dar correctly saved five tourists, which includes two foreigners, in the accurate spirit of trademark Kashmiri hospitality,” the officials claimed.
Search and rescue was introduced quickly and groups of state catastrophe reaction fund, law enforcement and locals, searched till late hours, but experienced to abandon the search thanks to darkness, they claimed.
The officials claimed the entire body of the brave vacationer manual was retrieved from the river on Saturday early morning in the vicinity of Bhawani bridge and just after completion of medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to his kinfolk.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag has suggested Dar for bravery award, the officials explained, including chief secretary has also hailed his bravery and directed the district administration to aid the relatives of the deceased.
