I was about to cut into my savings to replace and possibly upgrade my wacom tablet that decided to stop working after 10 years but when at my sister's place last week to divide some more stuff from my dads inheritance we found a wacom bamboo still in the box.

I remember when my old wacom broke back in 2011 my dad bought it for me as a replacement but he lost it somehow and we got another one instead. Figuring we'd find it eventually and give it to someone else.

I've been having pretty bad luck lately so this is very welcome to be honest. I had to wrestle with the wacom drivers to get this one to work and the pen sometimes does weird stuff so I've been testing out different settings to get it to draw in a way that feels comfortable.

But honestly? I think my old wacom was in a worse condition than I thought because this is so much smoother to work with. It's still a small tablet, which is not very nice on my wrist, so eventually I'll replace it with a larger one so I can draw more from the shoulder instead of my wrist but for now it's perfect. :)

It's been two years today since my dad passed away and it really doesn't feel like two years. It still feels like I can just call him and talk about anything or share some news about my life.

I never got to show him my own home, he never got to visit. Things just keep going even if he isn't here anymore and everything I'm not able to share with him makes me almost feel guilty for some reason. I know that isn't rational or something he would want but I can't help it.

Hmm, yeah sorry. That reveal trailer didn't really do it for me. I really don't like the cartoonish artstyle, at least for a game like this. I really hope it's a stylistic choice for the trailer and not what the game actually looks like.

I don't even know who you are? And I don't hate Veilguard? I have issues with it sure, and it's not my favourite in the series but this is a little too much don't you think?

The gameplay trailer does look a lot better than the reveal trailer but I still feel like it looks a little off.

The skin of the characters looks a little plasticky and too smooth to me. It was especially noticeable with Neve I think. I liked the vibrant colours in the environment though. But overall it gives me a bit of a generic online fantasy videogame vibe which is not really something I like. But it looks okay, it's just not my preference.

But all in all the art style is the only thing that kind of bothers me personally and it looked good enough for me to get used to eventually I think. The characters seem interesting and I'm very curious about the story. Not exactly hyped yet but still looking forward to the game.

I finally have names for my rats. Lord of the rings themed, some of my favourite characters.

Radagast the Brown for the agouti guy, Tom Bombadil for the little jolly black rat and Gandalf the grey/white for the husky one who might eventually turn almost white because of his colouring.

They are also growing like crazy, except for little Tom, he remains tiny and still has his soft baby fur. His brothers however are bigger each time I look at them.

Gandalf no longer bites me, he now pulls me to him to clean my hand. So I guess I've been accepted as part of the group now. I'm pretty sure it was territorial aggression combined with some hormonal stuff since he is starting puberty after all, he only bit me when near his hide. But he no longer does and is now the bigger attention seeker of the bunch. He LOVES belly tickles, makes his tail wiggle and all that.

Radagast is pretty laid back, a bit shy but he enjoys getting pets. Getting picked up is still scary but once hiding in my shirt I can hear him boggling so I'm confident to say he enjoys the attention.

Tom is a jumpy little guy, loves chasing my hand. But only in the cage, playing out of the cage is too scary. He is not a fan of being picked up yet, but he tolerates it. He just needs a little more time. If I pet him he takes it as an invitation to play, so cuddling is not really his thing yet, lol.

I'm picking up some rats next Friday! I'm so excited! No idea what exactly I'll be coming home with but the rescue has several options for me. All I know is I'll be taking home 3 of them.
