My Comet Cometh
You know that feeling when something hits you? An idea, a thought, a realization, even a fading dream and suddenly you feel different. It's so huge it leaves you wide-eyed (almost literally). Well, it happened to me. One day, during the most ordinary day, a comet hit me. Suddenly, I wanted something new. Oh, I've wanted this for a long time but it has been hazy. Or maybe I just pushed the idea aside. Now, I distinctly know what I want. I want this comet. This really huge comet. So huge it overwhelms and scares me. But lo! I can hold it between my palms. Because it's mine for the taking. Or maybe it really is just mine and was destined to be in my hands. Like a Golden Snitch. Now that I have this proverbial comet, what will do with it? Gosh, I'm so scared. But scared in a nice and tingly way. I mean, what if I can't deal with it? What if I'm too tiny? But Sleepyhead told me, "Persevere." Can I even do it? I want this comet. I see my name written on it. But, what if I can't? Persevere. Yes, I can. I will. I just need to convince myself everyday. Oh please be mine, comet. Please stay. I know you're good for me. Come. Stay. I know I'll be happy.
