Seven Days With You: The Most Precious Memory in Our Lives, commonly known as Seven Days, is a poignant all-ages visual novel that blends occult mystery elements with emotional storytelling. The game begins with protagonist Kanzaki Shuuichi, who inadvertently becomes entangled with the supernatural after receiving a cursed Blu-ray disc from a friend. This disc conjures a female ghost who possesses him, leading to a series of otherworldly events.
Shuuichi’s childhood friend, Sairenji Murasaki, who has learned exorcism skills from her father—a respected shrine priest—partially succeeds in freeing Shuuichi from the ghost. However, the spirit, identified as Mikanagi Chiyako, a murder victim from the video on the disc, remains in a human form and reveals that she is not alone; six other spirits share her fate. With only forty-nine days allowed for a ghost to remain in the world, each spirit can stay for only seven days. Resolved to help these spirits find peace, Shuuichi commits to aiding each one in resolving their earthly ties and departing happily, unaware of the emotional toll this journey will take on him.
