The Magnetic Tree (Lifeformed)
"One winter night, in the depths of my depression that I had just recently been diagnosed with, I was walking on my college campus to visit a religious leader in hopes for some sort of upliftment or advice, as I was also struggling religiously (which certainly wasn't helping the depression). I was bundled up and wearing my big, over-the-ear headphones on the walk, music loud enough to drown out the world, which wasn't hard to do when the streets were so empty. This was a nervous venture full of uncertainty and self loathing. And as I walked that dark winter evening, bundled in a big coat and heavy boots, hands frozen in gloves and a scarf tightened around my chin in a failing attempt to keep warm, this song came on. And I looked up, and saw the large snowflakes standing almost completely still in the air, the black asphalt of the road glittering in its wet reflection of the harsh white streetlights of the campus. The snow was so uncharacteristically gentle in an area that boasted of strong winds. The crisp winter air was, in that moment, refreshing. This was one of the strongest spiritual experiences I have had in a long time. There is no proper way to describe the experience other than spiritual. I haven't even played the game that this song originates from, I first heard it in a silly series of videos of people playing Minecraft. And yet here I am, still feeling awe over an experience that happened at least 5 years ago now."
Scream (High School Musical)
Yeah, the clock's running down/Hear the crowd getting loud/I'm consumed by the sound/Is it her? Is it love/Can the music ever be enough?/Gotta work it out, you can work it out/You can do it, you can do it
"It's just such a banger. It's like he took his little soliloquy "my head's in the game but my heart's in the song" from Get'cha Head In the Game in the first movie and turned it into a whole angst rock ballad for the final (third) movie and it's the most awesome thing ever. There's just so much power and behind it and the visuals are so cool (aside from all the flashing lights RIP me and my seizures) and that scream at the end is so satisfying (and so much more satisfying than the one in the reprise in the TV show tbh)."
