I just received a note from the adoption coordinator at Irvine Shelter about this poor dog in Moreno Valley. It looks as if he was used as a bait dog. He is missing a portion of his front lip and may end up having to lose more of it. When he came in, his face was so swollen, and infected that and he could barely eat. He is doing much better now and wags his tail when someone enters the room. He hasn't shown any aggression towards any of the shelter staff regardless of how much pain he was in and what they were doing to him to treat him. They said that you could tell that he wants to be with people despite what “people” have done to him. He’s scared but wants to love someone and more than anything, he wants someone to love him. Please help us show him what “good” people are. Pictures below will show how in just a few days, he’s gone from guarded to belly rubs.
