World Building, Being Authentic, and Rewrites
In this video I talk about the creation of alternative settings and worlds that fantasy characters can live in. I also talk about being authentic to yourself as a writer and with your characters. Lastly I talk about rewrites and the struggle I recently faced in rewriting several chapters of my story.
I exchanged work with my friend Mary this past weekend, so I thought it would be a good time to talk about critique and positive criticism. When receiving criticism, know at the person is trying to help and it is about your work, not you personally. When giving criticism try to be helpful, not hurtful. Be optimistic and try to think positively but critically about each other's work and advice. Assume they meant only the best for you.
