MOZART THE ROCK OPERA and the story of my little armor... 🇺🇸~This cute little fan is 10 years now! This special object close to my heart, (and pretty handy in this wave of heat!) keeps close to me the memory of a particular character I’ve been blessed to bring back to life... I’m saying back... because she had an inspiring life in the 18th century, ALOYSIA WEBER was the first love and muse of MOZART. And 10 years ago we were starting rehearsing for what would become a hit musical directed by Olivier Dahan (who directed MA VIE EN ROSE)... we were trying on the first costumes... and this little fan started its life then, night after night, playing a major role in a heart-breaking scene I had with Mozart, opening it like a wall of pride and coldness, to hide my broken heart (as Aloysia 😉)... to not fall apart... it became my little armor... Does anybody who saw the show remember which scene I’m talking about? 🇫🇷~ Ce petit éventail vient de faire ses 10ans! Un souvenir précieux que je garde toujours près de moi (surtout en cette chaleur caniculaire), il me rappelle le merveilleux temps où j’ai incarné ce personnage particulier et cher à mon cœur et à celui de MOZART, ALOYSIA WEBER fut son premier amour et muse éternelle. Il y a 10 ans, on commençait les répétitions et les essayages des premiers costumes auxquels ce petit éventail s’est intégré. Représentation après représentation, il a joué un rôle majeur dans une scène déchirante... s’ouvrant comme un mur d’orgueil et de froideur... ma petite armure derrière laquelle je cachais le chagrin et le cœur brisé d’Aloysia... MOZART THE ROCK OPERA and the story of my little armor... on stage... 🇺🇸~A follow up to my previous post about my 10 year-old little fan! Most of you remembered that scene where it came from… I found some pictures of it on stage… that scene where Mozart is back… after 2 years… 2 years of rebuilding piece by piece her little heart. As Aloysia, when I saw him… my little heart started beating again… bim bam boum…. like a temptation.... beating inside… but it was too late… the mask of pride (or really fear) was up. All I had to protect myself was this little fan, like a little armor I held on to, I hid behind. And I became a firework show of coldness and cruelty… Yes, right before Mozart fell apart in the heart-breaking song JE DORS SUR DES ROSES…. The sad story of Aloysia and Mozart… Now the real question I ask myself and I ask you is: do you think it was the end of their love? I am investigating and I’ll be back soon with answers…. ;) 🇫🇷~ Suite à mon précédent poste sur mon petit éventail qui vient de faire ses 10ans! When I was chatting with Hubby the other day, I began reflecting on how many times I’ve taken / will take the stage this year.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ By the end of 2019, I will have taken the stage a minimum of 86 times 🤯⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have made / are making this possible.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m grateful for my physical body and the activity of my limbs that allows me to perform.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m grateful for all the lessons I’m learning and the experience I’m getting.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m grateful for pushing through on days when I get discouraged.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m grateful for this beautifully chaotic life I’m living in a place I never thought I’d live. ⁣⁣ Y’all, my heart overflows. Gram Fam, I know I’m LATE to the party. I just started watching Pose 🤭 When actress Charlayne Woodard (Helena St. Rodgers on @poseonfx 💃🏽) said this quote in one of the early episodes, it literally sent chills up my spine 🙌🏽⁣ ⁣ What’s described in this quote is exactly what I work towards daily. In my current show (The Full Monty at Argyle Theater), I absolutely love observing/studying my cast mates that have been in the business for decades. Their presence is so alive each and every time they take the stage. They find ways to bring new things to the moments they’ve repeated over and over again.
