Chapter Three is here of 'The Bridle Path'
Okay, listen up. If you're an equestrian you have either had or heard about strangles. There is only one word to describe the virus. Stressful. With the right research, every horse must be kept to themselves. An overall is needed as well as wellies. Every time you enter and leave a stable you have to dip your feet in disinfectant and rub your hands with hand sanitizer. Every time you go into a different stable your tools must be washed to avoid cross-infection. The highest contagious once consist of wearing gloves and hot pressing abscesses. A lot of hard work if there if they is only one person that runs the yard.
Everything was finished. No more strangles. The relief was so rewarding for Mollie so she wanted to go and have fun. She did this by ringing a close friend of hers Haven to bring the horses around. Surrounding the yard was lots of country land to hack on and they had planned to go out with the hot beaming sun glaring down on them.
Mollie finished the morning feed and boiled the kettle. Once the kettle was boiled she poured herself a cup of tea and all you hear was the sips that Mollie took. She overheard clanging and an engine becoming louder and louder. Closer and closer. The sound drew to a halt for a moment and then the sudden slamming of a door.
"Mollie!" A voice shouted.
"Hey gal! Nice seeing you, it's been a while!"
"I know tell me about it." Mollie ran down the stairs and jumped into Haven's arms. "Jeez Mollie you couldn't have missed me that much!" They giggled.
"Let's make you a bru." Whilst the kettle boiled Haven unloaded Prince into a spare empty stable that Mollie had.
After an hour of gossiping like girls do they decided to tack up their horses and ride out for a few hours. They grabbed their tack and took them down to the stable. She fastened up the throatlatch and Mollie reached over the stable door for the saddle. She glanced over to Prince's stable. She gasped.
"Wow Haven!" She bellowed.
"I am only here you know, tone it down."
"Prince is looking like a handsome stallion isn't he. He is looking better than ever."
"Aw, complimented by a top producer. Proud moment." The joy and happiness radiated her face. "Come on. I'm tacked up. Get ya saddle on trouble."
Mollie quickly put the saddle on Rocco, picked his hooves and walked him on into the car park. Haven followed. Whilst keeping the stallions distant Haven and Mollie tightened their girth, pulled down their stirrups and mounted on. They set off on their long hack out side by side. Without looking back. Who locked up?
