Hey all! Thank you to everyone who’s stuck around while I took an unexpectedly long break from drawing. Insert sad face here. Just thought I’d bring you up to speed on what’s been going on. Sorry if it’s full of errors and such! I’m not as good at writing as I am at scribbling on my tablet.
Over the past half a year or so, I graduated and was fortunate enough to find myself an in-house graphic design job (which was totally unexpected and completely awesome). Previously as a freelance illustrator, I’d set aside time for personal projects, Unfortunately with my new routine, I’d only get 1-2 hours of free time a night, which I’d spend watching shows on Netflix, or building a mega-awesome correctional facility in Prison Architect. (Sorry, guys, I’m human!) I wanted to draw consistently, but I didn’t have the energy or enthusiasm for it.
Since the Lightfall comic is such a special project to work on, I really feel like I need to put 100% into it. I’m sure you all know the feeling. Every page is a labour of love!
After taking my not-so-short break from drawing I feel like I have recharged and have a lot of pent-up creative energy that I’m just dying to use. It might have been delayed, and it might be slow going forward, but I’m confident that the results will be better than a bunch of rushed, half-assed drawings/comic pages.
Ain’t gonna be giving up the art game anytime soon!
For everyone who’s been patient, I thank you sincerely :)
