National Lighthouse Day
In celebration of National Lighthouse Day, we would like to share with you a presentation by Kelsey Noel, archivist, who discusses recently digitized 26-LG — a Coast Guard series of lighthouse photographs. The process of creating digitized photographs is long, interesting, and sometimes difficult, but worthwhile when the images become available online through the National Archives Catalog.
Item: Photograph of the Construction of the St. George Reef Light Station in California, 1892. Series: Lighthouses, 1855 - 1933. Record Group 26: Records of the U.S. Coast Guard, 1785 - 2005. (National Archives Identifier 7682787).
