“Moro, she’s fifteen,” Claudia says disapprovingly; “that’s not appropriate.” Moro being a Lightning, it is unfortunately necessary to clarify that. Lightnings do not get taught that normally, seeing as Lightnings tend to die young and are often born from teen pregnancies in the first place. It’s despicable, but the pressure from the top for there to be Lightnings and the financial incentives offered to parents who entrust Lightning children to specialised training, together with the rather brutal training methods, means that most Active Alliance Lightnings are functionally orphaned with accordingly lopsided education and skewed social expectations.

Skys tend to be particularly protective of Lightnings, due to the tendency for Lightnings to act as proverbial canaries-in-a-coal-mine. When you rely on someone to attract trouble, or know they have a tendency to, you start worrying a bit.

Lightning!

In the past, I probably would have said Mist.  I mean, most of my fav characters are Mist and I would probably be a Mist.  Yet, Lightning is my favorite.

There is so much you can do with Lightning flames though!  You can get incredibly creative with it.  I enjoy writing Lightning characters the most and it’s fun to see the diversity of personality for the flame.  I really don’t understand why it’s so underrated.

Ah, hello! ( O u O ) I was wondering if you have any advice on a scientist OC. Would it be alright for her to have lightning flames? I know it's Verde-ish since she's also a scientist but I thought that if I give her lightning flames, it will be a huge advantage to her machines since she can't fight normally- She's physically weak. Also, would a Pangolin be okay as a lightning box animal?

Okay, sharing something in common with a canon character isn't bad.

The problem is when the OC shares too many things in common with the canon character that it becomes unoriginal. I'm not saying that she's a copy, but based from these information, I'm really getting the feel of Verde.

So okay, the lightning flames can be a huge advantage to her machines. But at the same time, since she's a scientist, she can just invent a device that lets the machine she makes run on Dying Will Flames - so even if her flame is Cloud, Mist, Sun, ect ect, any flame would be advantageous.

I think.

If this is TYL though, I'm pretty sure there would be a lot of blueprints for those kinds of machines and she could just modify them to suit her tastes or smth.

If you really want to give her the lightning flames though, my advice is this: Since you already have three things in common with Verde (scientist, lightning flames, and machine-inventor), the stuck up and arrogant personality traits should be crossed out. Make her completely different from Verde in terms of personality and appearance. 

and yes, Pangolin is okay as a lightning box animal.
