Artist of the Week: Lightning Jar
This week’s artist of the week is Lightning Jar, a newly formed Folk Rock band with a unique sound. The band was originally established in October 2010, by three childhood friends who shared the same passion for music. Jason Pomeroy, Sean Marshall, and Nathan Maier began developing music that’s central theme was struggling for an identity and self-discovery. In May 2011, drummer Jason Reynolds joined the group which added depth to the overall sound of their music. The band is currently working on finishing and releasing their debut album, however their first single Gypsy Band is available on iTunes and can be purchased here Fun Facts about Lightning Jar: - Lightning Jar was discovered by Retromedia Studios producer John Noll while the band performed its first gig on the Asbury Park boardwalk. - Nathan and Sean are both very much involved in surfing and Nathan recently shaped and glassed his first surfboard in his basement. - Jason, Nathan, and Sean all graduated together from Morristown High School in New Jersey. - Lightning Jar is currently using Kickstarter.com to help fund the release of their debut album. Contributions to the Kick Starter Program can be donated here Check out Lightning Jar performing "Devil In The Backyard"

LOVE this!! Defiantly a great new band to check out!
September 13th... Be There!!
It used to be pretty standard for us to be promoting a show we were throwing at The Saint in Asbury Park. It's our Asbury home that opened the door to us from the beginning. Over the last two years we haven't been focusing that much on putting shows together but we decided that if we were going to do it... we were going to do it right! On September 13th, is probably one of the best lineups we have ever put together! We have taken some of our "old" favs like Anthony Walker and the Medicine Chest and Arlan Feiles and his new band The Broken Hearted and combined them with some of the newbies on the block. These newbies include Lightning Jar, who I had the pleasure of seeing a month or two ago and they completely blew me away. I haven't had the opportunity of seeing our other two acts James Arlowe and the Ruffian Circus and Frank Lombardi yet... but my sources tell me we are in for a superb night of music! The show is at The Saint located at 601 Main Street in Asbury Park, NJ! It is 18+ (or younger accompanied by a guardian) and is only $10! Doors are at 7pm and the music will start promptly at 7:30pm! We hope we will see you there!! Real times for the show: 7:30 - 7:55: Frank Lombardi 8:00 - 8:35: Lightning Jar 8:50 - 9:35: Arlan Feiles and the Broken Hearted 9:50 - 10:35: Anthony Walker and the Medicine Chest 10:45 - 11:30: James Arlowe and The Ruffian Circus
