1. How Stinger and Genji somehow work so well together… despite both of them being almost complete opposites… to me at least

2. Murata drawing the three together when drawing side pieces for OPM, like the picnic photo and the databook!

3. The fact that only Genji and Max have Lightning in their name but not stinger, and we still call them the Lightning trio anyways lmao

RQ4 theory [spoiler alert]

Okay, I just thought of this. Let me know what you guys think. So we all know Cal wants to fix Maven, but Cal says in a conversation with Mare "As far as I know, there are no newblood whispers. Not one that I've found or been told about. And I've done my fare share of searching". Right? But WHAT IF they don't need a whisper to fix Maven's brain? What if they need something stronger, something like Tyton's ability? Let me quote again: " 'What's brain lightning?' I ask, intrigued. [...] 'He means that a human body runs on a pulse of electrical signals. Very small, ridiculously fast. Difficult to detect and almost impossible to control. They're most concentrated in the brain, and easiest to harness there.'" So what if Tyton (or even Mare if she gets to learn that) are able to control the electrical signals in Maven's brain and "delete" any sort of manipulation Elara did? Or at least a few? YOU GUYS, I'M FREAKING OUT! I mean, I'm all about Marecal, but Maven breaks my heart, even more now after KC. @vaveyard please tell me I'm right!

My husband introduced me to OPM like a week ago or two from now and I was told about these three and I can see it. They are so endearing and I love that Stinger is in with the two lightning users. Do you have any personal headcanons for em? 👀

HELLO!! Been a bit since I've talked about my trio (nor asked about them) for being a lightning trio-centric blog... yes I have many headcanons for them!

This one might be a bit iffy but I like to think they've known each other (more especially Stinger and Genji) for quite a while! Stinger and Genji were childhood best friends, and either around middle/high school they met Max, who was about a grade or two below them (cuz he's younger).

I'm not sure how many people know this, but Stinger comes from a family of farmers! Explains where he gets his bamboo from, and he loves vegetables. Another sort of younger hc of him that I have is that he would offer to eat the veggies his friends didn't like at school so it wouldn't go to waste!

Adding on, he has invited the other two to check out the farm (and they've helped a few times, especially yet again Genji) and they're all treated like family <3

He also LOVES to cook! Lots of Chinese cuisine, but he'll make anything he or his friends desires, enjoys trying new things! Unfortunately, this does not extend to baking. Best he'll do are cookies, other than that? He wants to smack a pan into the wall.

Genji is very much of a nerd, and somewhat bullied picked on for that as well as his slow (possibly even stunted) growth. He used to always be in his own head when his (very few) friends weren't around, and liked to tinker with things like old tech that someone threw away

He had a cat he loved very much growing up, but sometime in highschool she passed due to old age. He keeps a little locket of her, she was his best companion.

Good at ice skating, rollerskating, and rollerblading! (Murata I think aggressive inlines would have been PERFECT for him.)

Max was one of the top athletes in his schools! He did basketball, track and field, and other sports (databook mentions these sports ^^) as well as martial arts which we see! His father introduced him to martial arts.

Related to McCoy in some way, I personally think he's a closely related uncle unfortunately. He absolutely hates him, and had no idea he was working for the HA until after he had already joined.

He also gives off "caffeine addict" vibes lol

That's all I have to offer from the top of my head at the moment, thanks for the ask! I really hope to see more of them soon, though that'll probably take a million years </3 (and... with the neo heroes arc... im quite scared)
