This comment is just giving all the Thor feelings all over again because you said it exactly. I liked a lot about AOU, but Ultron himself was really underwhelming. Thanos, for all that he looked kind of ridiculous, as a character was terrifying because he was unstoppable, because he meant everything he said, he genuinely liked and respected the people that he said he did, he knew none of them would thank him in this moment (not until later, until they saw the paradise he was going to bring them), and even when it came down to whether or not this path would cost his life, he seemed pretty willing to give it. He’s terrifying because he’s powerful and because he believes in what he’s doing.
AND THEN THERE’S THOR.
A GOD AMONG MORTALS. Yes, he has help from Stormbreaker, but he also straight up put an axe right THROUGH Thanos AFTER HE HAD ALL THE INFINITY STONES. The movie goes out of its way to show that the Hulk can’t really touch him even with just one, that Tony and Strange and the Peters all dump everything they have on him and it’s “all this for a drop of blood”.
Then Thor THE THUNDER KING OF MY HEART rolls up and just slams that axe right through all six Infinity Stones and right into Thanos’ chest.
Ragnarok was an incredible power up for Thor, but Infinity War just TOOK IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL.
This is why Odin said that Thor was stronger than him.
