This recipe for Healthier Orange Chicken is a lighter version of the classic dish. Tender chicken pieces are covered in a tasty orange sauce. It's a great mix of sweet and savory tastes that makes for a filling meal.
Ingredients: 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces. 1/4 cup cornstarch. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1/3 cup orange juice. 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce. 3 tablespoons honey. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon grated ginger. 1 tablespoon orange zest. Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish optional.
Instructions: Put chicken pieces in a bowl and coat them evenly with cornstarch. Put olive oil in a big skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. That's it! The chicken is done when it's golden brown and cooked all the way through. Orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and orange zest should all be mixed together in a different bowl. Cover the chicken in the sauce and pour it over the chicken in the pan. It will take about two to three minutes of stirring every now and then until the sauce thickens and covers the chicken. If you want, you can add sesame seeds and green onions as a garnish. Warm it up and put it on top of rice or quinoa. Have fun!
