Old Schools Gifs by BadCodec
While perusing my Tumblr feed I came across a gif that was posted by Lightresist* and it led me to Giphy where I discovered the work of BadCodec. There was a lot of work there that is firmly in the Vapor Wave and Tumblr gif tradition and some of it quite good.
It felt almost nostalgic to see this kind of work. Things move so fast that it feels like this is from another era, although it seems to be mostly from just a few years ago. I had to convert the files on Giphy from webp back to gif so I could post them on Tumblr, which is a hassle, and another sign of the times.
Shockingly, he (Daniel. VJ and mograph designer from Manchester UK) does not appear to have made any NFTs of his work yet. Should I tell him?
*One of the wonderful things about Tumblr are these blogs that for years and years deliver quality images. Lightresist is mostly about techno mech black combat gear and clothes, but their taste in gifs has always been great so always stay dedicated to following them.
