So I was out with friends tonight getting macca's ice-cream and driving around as you do And I was asked how I'd been managing lately And I essentially said I'd been pretty shit on the depression front for a few weeks now And then I laughed And my friend commented on the inappropriate nature of laughing after such a statement And I thought... well, yes. I guess so It occurs to me that I laugh a lot, and smile and joke and sing probably more often than most people I know The thing is, the alternative is to let myself really feel the depression If I didn't laugh about how I find myself paralysed by depression or performing compulsive acts because of anxiety practically every night, I'd have to cry
