I'm so curious about your beef with Charizard! What gets your goat about that guy?

ok i don’t downright HATE charizard or anything i just think it’s extremely overrated and undeserving of like, 100 new forms when there are PLENTY of other pokemon that deserve the attention, like... literally any of the other starters that aren’t from kanto. gen 6 pokemon. just. ANYTHING that isn’t charizard. when gen 9 comes around and they introduce like, a third mega evolution for charizard i will eat my switch.
it isn’t even that creative of a pokemon, so i cannot understand its popularity. my guess is that most of it comes from the anime as charizard as a rather prominent member of ash’s team and all. and being the mascot of pokemon red but like even blastoise or venusaur aren’t this venerated, which is sad because they’re soooo much better design-wise and even gameplay-wise. charizard is just a dragon. its literally just a dragon. and it isn’t even a goddamn dragon-type.
but charizard’s sole redeeming quality is that its shiny form is pretty epic.
