People see Arya as a Mary-Sue? I can't really see how. She's a deeply flawed character. I can see people not liking her, but I honestly can't see how the Mary-Sue title is warranted.
This goes back like way way in the beginning with the first two books. She has a wonderful character development in the last two.Basically the fandom 10-12 years ago all agreed that Arya was. She had the traits that follow a Mary-Su character: perfect features, perfect figure, perfect swordmanship skills, knew most languages, ect ect. It all follows the tropes of a Mary-Su persona. She was basically this character that could do no wrong. Now Im not saying shes a bad character, I def loved her by the end of the books, but initially when CP was writing her she didnt have a lot of depth to her. We didnt know enough about her except CP descriptions of how her hair was always perfect, her movements immaculate, her beauty and grace and ect ect. (Im sure he had a slight obsession with her hair.) Basically when we first met her, we just wanted more of her. We wanted to know her better and in the first two books you really dont feel a deep connection to her. (and she ends up being a significant character later on).BUT, The last book had me beaming and thumbs up that we do realize she has flaws and is kinda a human being. And I love her for that. <3
