I’ve just read a comment in which the poster seems to have hit a very nihilistic trench in their life, and says this silly, indulgent little comic I did helped them turn their world view around just a little. Helped them think for the first time that their actions always matter--always influence someone. I wish I could quote the whole thing because it’s beautiful, but I don’t want to draw attention to them.
I am honestly a bit teary-eyed right now. If any of my followers ever feel like that, I just want to say that what this person got out of MEGALO is what I hope everyone can see. What you do, matters. Every interaction you have with someone leaves a bit of you with them. In memory or influence; something you did shaped their world, for just a moment. And if you shape them enough times, they’ll always carry those imprints of you with them, no matter how far you may go in the opposite direction.
That’s what I like to think, anyway.
We all know Undertale is just a little game about a monster family, but since I’m wearing my Serious Hat™ tonight, I don’t think I’m alone in saying that its story means a lot to me. It does to a lot of us. I’ve said that I love the Undertale community countless times before, and I really, truly do--nowhere else have I seen such positivity and Determination to see the world a bit more brightly.
That’s my dream, too.
