My take/opinion on the Character's deaths and how that effects what they are (not psychologically, more physically I mean)
[Blame Twitter, I kept seeing people talk about this and I started thinking about it...a lot]
Something I wanna note that I haven't seen anyone mention is the fact that a character's demon form isn't the only thing that is affected by a characters death. So are their powers. Example 1: Yes, Alastor died mistaken by a deer but he specifically died because he was in the shadows. So because of that (and possibly other reasons I will not get into) his go to power is shadows. Also, probably why his shadow's/demon form's antlers tend to be horizontally longer and not vertically longer. Because that's how the tree branches were.
Example 2: Vox died because of TV placement and gravity, but specifically, he got electrocuted. So, he gets control over the electrical currents. The very thing that went through his human body and killed him.
Example 3: Pentious kinda...Okay so...We don't exactly how he died BUT we know all lot of his backstory and development and everything else was that he viewed himself as a cowardly witness. So his go to power for (or atleast the ONE natural demon power we see him use) is his weaker hypno eye thing. Which we know he couldn't have gotten it from being a controlling manipulator like Vox. So, what if he got it as a reference to his cowardice AND him being a witness. Like Hell's cruel irony: 'you now have an inert power that gives you control over others just by watching like you always do. Yet you will probably still choose to standby and do nothing' (yes this one is a stretch but I don't have much to work off of).
Another detail I wanna mention is that this could be a way to explain why their default powers don't match their demon form without knowledge (Alastor's shadow powers don't match him being a radio show host or a deer but they do fit his backstory, Vox probably never worked directly with electrical stuff but his death is directly tied to it, Pentious is...british idk).
Now that my flimsy evidence has been clear...
Time for Fun Death ideas!
These will be the order of me coming up with them and how much I can talk about them, so not in a proper order. Sorry
Angel Dust: I know the pre-show canon death for him (or atleast from what I gather was the most popular fanon idea. I haven't really looked into him too much comparably, so I don't actually know) was him OD'ing but here's the thing. I kinda think it would make more sense if died in a shootout. Reasons I think this:
His go-to demon power is summoning tommy guns from his second pair of arms (I don't think he stores them in his skeleton, so his manifesting them from what I can tell). Not too connected with drugs but would make sense if more firepower or a second pair of hands would have saved his life.
It looks like his entire family (atleast due to them all coming from the 40s, which means no decade difference like Mimzy and Alastor) died around the same era and if they were all also part of the same shootout it would make sense they all died in basically the same time.
Would make sense how he killed his dad. You can't randomly kill a mob boss and just live to tell the tale, even if you were his son. But...If he shot his dad in the shootout before getting shot himself (or maybe him shooting his dad caused the shootout) it would make a lot of sense. And if it's revealed that he shot his dad by accident (I have my own reasons for thinking this) it could also mean that him being high led to him doing what he would consider being the reason he's in Hell/Connect his death to drugs in someway but not a direct way. Plus, explains why he ended up working for Valentino. He got rid of the person tying to him a life he hated and the life that got him killed by making a deal with the first demon who offered him escape from that. Even though it was a bad deal in the end.
Valentino: Now onto the aforementioned moth demon. A.k.a 'How is his death connect to Moths?'. Well, I don't think his death is actually connected to moths similar to how I really doubt any spiders were related to Angel Dust's death or how Niffty's bug fascination might have no connection to her death either (we'll get to that). I think his death is actually more hinted at/connected to his demon power like Vox and Velvette (we'll get to that too). His aphrodisiac drool is basically a roofie and there have been more than a few mentions of him doing that to his employees to keep them in line/control them so he most likely would have done the same if he was a pimp when alive too...Except... What if his employees wanted some revenge? Many date rape drugs, especially high dosage can lead to death. With the side effects leading to that being: Drooling, vomiting, and breathing problems. That's right I gave Val the OD death not Angel! But seriously it kinda fits:
It would fit with how Hell tends to make everything about a demon's form some kind of punishment or reference. If his demon form isn't a direct reference then his main power might be. Everytime he uses it he does have to remember that someone who he supposedly had control over killed him by giving him a taste of his own medicine. And now that's his strongest ability. Literally tasting his death and supposed 'betrayal'.
Besides his cigarette that makes smoke we never see him using drugs, atleast not with anyone around. Maybe because someone messed with his stuff before? I mean...He only trusts Kitty to make his drinks despite having a lot of Vox-tek people at his disposal.
He has an intense obsession of keeping Angel Dust (and we kinda see with his other employees as well) in a constant state of paranoia and fear and refuses to let them under his boot (and from Husk's reaction to messed up Angel and Vivziepop's words from an interview this is extreme, atleast emotionally, compared to other Overlord-Owned Soul dynamics). Maybe it's because when he let his guard around one of his 'stars' they immediately killed him.
Velvette: (This is where I start having a lot less to say but still think I got some points) I think Velvette was doxxed on social media and someone (either an intense hater or obsessive fan) killed her and chopped up her remains:
Ties together her doll body with her social media powers (Social media led to her becoming a doll turned into parts).
would fit the thing I have so far for all the Vees having their main powers being directly connected to how they died (I know this isn't really a logical point but idk. It's a fanfic point I guess?)
I know many people theorize her being killed by one of her models but I really don't think she was an actual fashion designer when alive (similar to how I don't think Val was an actual porn film director or how Vox was never a ceo of a huge successful business) I think she only became that way because of Voxtec.
She is the Vee who cares the most about how the Vees appear and tries to keep it all together. Also the least, emotionally unstable/vulnerable. And well...if an Influencer blew up on the wrong/dangerous person and that led to their death, it would make them want to be more careful about how they appear to their fans and others overall.
Mimzy: I think her death was 100% the result of her causing problems and not being able to, or not expecting to, need to deal with it on her own. I think what caused her death was she ended up pissing off/pushing away everyone around her that usually makes her troubles go away (Yes, specifically Alastor because it would also explain why he never really turns her down. The one time he did is the one time she gets herself killed). So when she ended up angering the wrong person, they killed her.
Her demon form doesn't give us much but the fact it is the most human out of many other demon forms we've seen might. A headcanon I do enjoy a lot is that it's basically an easy way for people who want to get revenge on her to find and identify her. But another thing could be her vanity. What if she tried to get herself another big role where she's seen only to take the role of someone else or anger the wrong movie maker? That way her hell punishment is a constant reminder that she chose people viewing her face and body/fame over her own safety and life.
out of all the characters, from what we've seen, I think she would be the one to learn nothing from her death and just continue to repeat all of her behavior exactly (yes, all the other characters do this to some extent but Hell also makes them adapt. But Mimzy? She always had the same person to act as her safety net. So even if she did adapt a bit before he died, she would just revert to how she was when alive when they found each other again. To her, nothing's broken so why fix it?)
Speed Round!: (I.E) I got nothing concrete
Cherri Bomb: Probably one of her own bombs. She is so bomb-themed and there is not much else that would be more fitting.
Baxter: Still think it's a sunken ship but it would also be neat if he went on a submarine or with a diving suit. So that way it's actually deep-sea related.
Niffty: There are two very obvious possibilities so I will just mention them, mention my weird idea, and you pick whichever you decide. 1) Blood splatter dots on apron looks similar to the blood splatter dots on Al's season 1 mug. Those were a reference to him being shot so maybe Niffty was shot too. 2) Her eye, hair, and constantly inside of fire (fireplace in the pilot and Oven in the show) might mean she was burned alive. 3) She got shot by cops or one of her possible victims or just anyone, and either left the oven on and the house was consumed by fire or she set it on fire so that shooter would go down with her (does this have much ground to stand on? NOPE. But it does feel very chaotic and very Niffty).
Husk: ...I got nada. I know alcohol poisoning is the popular idea and would fit but it doesn't match his form or his abilities, Maybe suicide off a roof (Cats land on their feet and wings are both things that would get in the way if you're trying to kill yourself by jumping)? But like...??? If his demon form is actually just a reference to him hating cats, therefore physical manifestation of him hating himself. That just leave wings and like...ONE DETAIL? That's all connected to his death??
So yeah, this isn't a very serious post and more just basic fun ideas that can be played with for fan stuff (headcanons, theories, fanfics, etc).
