if u compare supernatural to a series of unfortunate events, sam is klaus (the younger brother who loves to read/study...allow me to remind you of sam's obsession with lore) and dean is violet (aka LITERAL eldest sister that likes to invent things and takes on the parental role out of necessity—mother, father, AND sister) which makes adam sunny baudelaire aka the Sibling Who Bites Things and i personally find this to be very accurate and hilarious to think about (and also if you need more convincing, their life is literally a series of unfortunate events)
