The Andy Warhol Temporary Museum by LIKEarchitects
Hundreds of metal paint cans were used to build this temporary museum inside shopping centre in Lisbon. A total of 1500 cans were used to create four themed rooms.
Eight rows of cans shape the exhibition walls. The lowest three rows were filled with sand to give stability to the walls.
The museum was open for three months. 32 original artworks were displayed here of Andy Warhol.
Instead of neutral white walls that typical gallery spaces have, the architects opted for everyday household objects that Warhol adored in his paintings.
The entrances were positioned at both ends, so shoppers could easily stroll right through.
