Some of disney’s first serialized TV shows were so so good. Magical atmosphere, colorful ensemble casts, fun adventures, and even good messages and role models. I’m so so in love with The Adventures of the Gummi Bears and Gargoyles. I’m pretty happy with how Gargoyles turned out, but I’m rewatching Gummi Bears and tbh it probably had even more potential. There’s bits of lore I wish I could know more about. How did Duke Igthorn end up betraying the castle and get exiled and become obsessed with taking over? What about the gummi bears who were taking care of the Glenn before our cast? Did they have parents? Communal family raising the children like our cast? Are gummis born traditionally? How are more made? The gummis meet someone who was the last of his small caretaking/colony group because he was the youngest. Is our cast’s civilization going to die out someday? How and why did their ancestors who took care of the Glenn lose so much of their culture??
The modern Ducktales was such a wonderful show, I wish something like that would happen to the Gummi Bears.
