Redraw my best girls
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Chloe often comes to Philippe’s skating rink whenever life gets a little too much, she’s rich so she can ask the man to let her in after hours because sometimes a girl just needs to be alone.
Tonight though, she's not alone. That new transfer student, Lila Rossi is there with her and looking into the girl's eyes, Chloe sees that familiar aching loneliness. Maybe this girl is the closest thing she can ever have to a friend...?
For the ficlet starter line: Chloé and Lila, 10 :)
From the fic starter lines ask meme. This was fun! Features reuse of some ideas I’ve used in previous stories or posted independently, because this is my blog and I get to do that.
“Wow, that’s low, even for you”, said Lila quietly.
“I have no idea what you mean”, replied Chloé haughtily.
“Oh no, I’m not judging, I’m just admiring. Getting Marinette arrested? That took some serious acting skills. It’s just game recognizing game, girl.”
“That’s ridiculous!”, replied Chloé. “I only told them the truth.”
Lila laughed briefly. “You told them that little miss goody two shoes was plotting to overthrow the Mayor. Come on, you could fool all these sheep in our class, but you can’t fool me.”
“It’s the truth!”, shouted Chloé. Lila just raised her eyebrow.
“I mean, it only makes sense, right? Marinette has stolen my Adrikins from me, and the class doesn’t respect me anymore, and my mother— of course she’d go after my daddy next!“
Lila chuckled. “Oh god, you really believe the things you’re saying, don’t you? That’s a rookie mistake, bestie.”
She flashed Chloé her toothiest smile.
“Face it, you lied. Marinette probably never even thought about you or your dad until the handcuffs clicked.”
“That’s ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!”, shouted Chloé. “I’m her nemesis. I’m better than her. This entire school year is a competition, and I am winning, because I am the queen of this school!”
“All you are is an annoying pest, just buzzing around and annoying everyone,” said Lila. “I know buttons to push on Marinette that you never even thought about. And when my plan is complete, I am the one who is going to dethrone her.”
“You? Pff.” Chloé scoffed. “Nobody knows who you are. You sit in the back, you don’t talk to anybody, you make always make excuses to leave, and nobody even knows your name. Marinette doesn’t even remember you, but she will forever remember my heroic wrath!”
Lila stood up sharply.
“You’re so full of yourself, rich girl. Why do you even care so much who Marinette’s nemesis is?”
Chloé moved closer, right in Lila’s face.
“I. Do. Not. Care. At. All!”, she shouted.
“Well, neither do I, asshole!”, shouted Lila.
For a moment, they just looked at each other. Then Chloé said,
“So, do you wanna make out?”
